IT'S cup final day on both sides of the border and armchair fans will be licking their lips with two titanic derbies to pick from.

Manchester City are looking to complete the domestic Double with a win over rivals United at Wembley and it's same story at Hampden as Celtic bid to add the Scottish Cup to the Premiership crown.

But Rangers are chasing a double of their own after lifting the League Cup and a win would take some of the pressure off Philippe Clement heading into a big summer rebuild.

It doesn't look like Erik ten Hag will still be around at Old Trafford to oversee an equally massive transfer window. Leading Manchester United to his second cup in two seasons would be a good way to sign off but his side are rank outsiders against this relentless City side.

Manchester City vs Manchester United Top Betting Tips

This is the second year in a row we've seen a Manchester derby in the FA Cup Final, with the two giants never having previously slugged it out in the showpiece.

Pep Guardiola's side lifted the trophy 12 months ago and are just 1/6 to do so again having eased to victory in the two league derbies this term. It's hard finding value backing another City win but you can get odds of 10/11 on them to be winning at half-time and full-time.

I'd imagine Ten Hag will set up to defend deep and hit on the counterattack, a tactic he deployed at the Etihad before City eventually found a way through in their 3-1 win.

Guardiola's defence do give you chances so there could be some value in backing City keeper Stefan Ortega for over 2.5 saves at 5/4.

Action is more likely at the other end, though, and City player bets look the wisest move. Assist king Kevin De Bruyne is 6/4 to set up another goal while Bernardo Silva is 11/8 just to have a shot on target.

Celtic vs Rangers Betting Tips

Celtic have bossed the Old Firm derbies so far this season, with three wins and a draw, and they're 4/9 hot favourites to lift the Scottish Cup against a Rangers side decimated by injuries.

Most of the injuries are in defence and that showed last weekend as Gers conceded three goals against Hearts. That makes over 3.5 match goals tempting at 13/8 while backing the opener to come inside 28 minutes pays 5/6.

Rangers' John Lundstram saw red in the recent 2-1 loss at Parkhead and three penalties have been awarded in the last two meetings. This has the potential to be another busy day for the officials and spot kick being awarded pays 6/4.

Backing players for cards is usually the shrewd move in this fixture and Ibrox kid Leon King looks good value at 5/2 if he's forced to start in defence. Daizen Maeda's relentless pressing also makes the Celtic winger a decent option to go into the book at 10/3.

Lyon vs Paris St-Germain Top Tips

Paris St-Germain are another team hunting a domestic double as they face Lyon tonight in the French Cup Final.

Luis Enrique's side are still on a downer after losing the Champions League semi-final to Dortmund but are red-hot 3/10 favourites to get their hands on another trophy.

Lyon won't be pushovers though as they head into the final in great form, having lost just once in their last 11 games to qualify for Europe. Combining a PSG win with both teams to score could be the shout at 21/10.

This will be Kylian Mbappe's last game for the French champions and he's just 5/6 to sign off with a goal. There looks to be more value in backing him for an assist at 3/1.

Kaiserslautern vs Bayer Leverkusen Tips

Bayer Leverkusen fans were hoping today's German Cup Final would see them pull of an incredible Invincible Treble but that dream has died after their humbling midweek loss to Atalanta in the Europa League showpiece.

The pain of playing so poorly in that 3-0 loss could have an impact today but second-tier Kaiserslautern have been written off and are as big as 10/1 with Bet365 to lift the trophy.

Kaiserslautern will have taken heart from watching Atalanta's high press pay off in Dublin so I'd imagine they will have a go. That makes BTTS worth a look at 21/20.

The Bundesliga II side should get stuck in, and midfielder Jean Zimmer is 10/3 to collect his seventh card of the season.

Wee update ladies and gents, sadly I learned yesterday that my cancer has spread and it’s now terminal. I have six weeks to five months left, so this will be my last post on here. I wish you all the very best for the future and hope you all keep emptying those satchels for years to come.

All medical opinions of timescales are nothing more than “guesstimates” – a bit like when the bookies price up odds.

Sometimes, bookies get the pricing wrong. Or the underdog has a great day. Or the favourite stuffs it up.

If you asked ANY medical consultant to bet their entire wealth (house, pension, investments etc) on under 5 months, NOT ONE of them would. Because doctors (like weather forecasters) aren’t always right.

So forget the six weeks to five months bit.

Live every day the best you can, and make it your mission to be here in a year’s time.

Because it’s all about beating the odds. Which is how we all ended up on this site in the first place.

Stay strong, and remember all of us are rooting for you mate 👍

Sorry to hear this. I said to myself this morning that I need to eat a bit healthier and not let little things get to me and then I read this. So you are going to be my inspiration for my goals….take things one day at a time and all the best from Ireland 🙂 🇮🇪

Thank you all for the kind words, means a lot gents. I had to laugh that I’m told that after winning £1183 for a fiver last week when Oliver let that handball go. Tuck about your luck turning. I’m determined to fight for whatever time I have and take whatever treatment they will throw at me. The irony is if any I feel fitter and healthier than I have in 15 years. All the words of encouragement and goodwill really are appreciated from the bottom of my heart ❤️

Well done all winners today and goodluck for rest of the evening 👍

    • maccathered 2 months ago

You might have won more trophies than Arsenal but Arsenal are in the Champions League and United aren’t, Arsenal will attract top players United won’t . United won today and I’d say deservedly so but over the course of the season this United team wouldn’t lace City’s boots, a one off game and a derby can go either way that showed today.

      1
    • Deano86 2 months ago

No one can lace city’s boots over the course of the season not yet anyway , and We’l always be able to attract top players were one of the biggest clubs in the world , things are changing since sir jim came in he’s appointing best in class and i also expect a change in manager aswel , although Ten hag played a blinder today tactics were spot on , also macca what did your lot win this season the tin cup as you called it last year 🤭

      5
    • maccathered 2 months ago

Liverpool have taken a League title off City in recent years I do believe. United will always be able to attract top players as your one of the biggest clubs in the world, If United are to attract top players then I’d suggest they will pay way over market value as Europa League isn’t attractive to the very elite players and watching United over the past ten years I reckon they will struggle. I said many years ago when United tried pricing all the other teams out of players it would bite them on the arse and it has big time. Sir Jim has only invested enough to fix the roof lol

      1
    • maccathered 2 months ago

Sir Jim is appointing the best in class, Micheal Edwards is the best in the business and he turned Down massive money offers from Chelsea and Sir Jim however Fsg made him an offer and he accepted. 😀

Well done winners today and for a change my team did me proud, though over the season the players have to take a long hard look at themselves and question their own attitude as today they have shown they are capable of better than 8th.

For the record I thought Amrabat was our best player, did the unselfish work efficiently and always seemed to get a foot in when needed.
