After falling short in their opening UEFA Champions League fixture, PSG turn their attention to domestic matters as they welcome Lyon to the Parc des Princes. The hosts have a 100% record in the French Ligue 1 and should have too much for an inconsistent Lyon side.
PSG's quest to reclaim their Ligue 1 title has started on an excellent note with the Parisians winning all five of their opening matches. They claimed a 4-0 victory over Clermont in their previous fixture in the topflight with Ander Herrera netting a brace while Kylian Mbappe and Idrissa Gueye were also on target.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men were disappointing in midweek with a 1-1 draw at Club Brugge in the Champions League.
The goals have flowed freely for PSG this season and they have found the net four times in each of their last two matches. They will still be banking on the attacking trio of Neymar, Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe despite struggling to find a rhythm on their first start together at Brugge.
Lyon were also victorious in their previous Ligue 1 fixture as they triumphed 3-1 over Strasbourg. Moussa Dembele opened the scoring early in the first half while Jason Denayer and Lucas Paqueta added further goals after the break before the visitors pulled one back.
Peter Bosz's men had a slow start to the season as they failed to secure a win in their opening three matches. However, they appear to be slowly turning the corner and head to PSG with two straight Ligue 1 wins while also claiming a 2-0 win over Rangers in the Europa League.
One problem that continues to plague Lyon is a lack of discipline at the back which could be exploited by the PSG attack. They have kept just one clean sheet in Ligue 1 this season and conceded eight goals in their opening five matches.
