THE biggest rivalry in English football is set to go stateside this weekend when Man Utd take on Liverpool at the Williams-Brice Stadium in South Carolina.
Both teams have had very similar pre-seasons in terms of the teams they've faced but it's Liverpool who have had more joy on their tour of the USA.
While both teams defeated Real Betis, Man Utd lost 2-1 to Arsenal while Liverpool overcame the Gunners by the same scoreline.
Ahead of what is both sides' final match in the USA this summer, check out our Man Utd vs Liverpool prediction.
How the bookies view it: A tough one to call
The bookies have sat on the fence with this one and have priced it just about as closely as they could have done. Man Utd are considered the slight favourites at 13/10 with Betfred while Liverpool are priced at 7/5. The draw, which wouldn't necessarily be a bad result for either team with just two weeks to go until the new Premier League season, has been priced at 11/4.
Recent head-to-head: A follow-up to two crackers
Last season, Man Utd and Liverpool played each other on three occasions with all three finishing level after 90 minutes. The 0-0 draw at Anfield was a drab affair but the two matches at Old Trafford were thrilling affairs, particularly the seven-goal blockbuster in the FA Cup quarter-finals. If this one can replicate that then we should be in for an excellent night.
Players to watch: A tale of two wingers
This match will see two right-wingers at the opposite ends of their careers do battle. Amad Diallo started to break into the Man Utd team at the end of last season and looks set to have a big role to play for the Red Devils this season while Mo Salah is someone he should look up to if he wants to know how to excel in the role.
The biggest moment of Amad's career to date came against Liverpool last season in the aforementioned FA Cup tie. It was his goal in the 121st minute that sent Old Trafford into raptures and his team to Wembley. If that goal hadn't have gone in in, then Erik Ten Hag would almost certainly not still be in the Man Utd dugout.
Meanwhile, Salah has a phenomenal record against Man Utd. In 13 Premier League appearances against Liverpool's bitter rivals, the Egyptian has scored 11 goals.
Predicted line-ups
Man Utd are already dealing with a mini injury crisis with Ramsus Hojlund and Leny Yoro both ruled out for several weeks after picking up injuries on the tour. Liverpool still have the same players who faced Arsenal available to them but Ibrahima Konate and Ryan Gravenberch could be given starts.
Man Utd: Onana – Wan-Bissaka, Evans, Lindelof, Amass – Casemiro, Eriksen – Diallo, Mount, Rashford – Sancho
Liverpool: Kelleher – Bradley, Konate, Van den Berg, Tsimikas – Endo, Elliott, Gravenberch – Salah, Jota, Carvalho
Anything else catch the eye?
Of the six matches involving these two teams during pre-season to date, only one has seen more than three goals scored which suggests we shouldn't expect too many goals on Saturday. Under 3.5 goals is priced at 5/6 with Betfred.
