Crystal Palace vs Everton

, KO: 17:30 Feb 15, 2025, Selhurst Park
Everton

Everton will still be on a high after the incredible finale to Wednesday's Merseyside derby but face a tough task for their next assignment as they travel to in-form Crystal Palace in the Premier League.

We predicted the final visit from Liverpool in Goodison Park's history would be a stormy affair and that's how it turned out with six yellows and two reds flashed in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Mo Salah thought he had won it for the Reds when he netted to make it 2-1, bringing up a bet for Slips Tips, but James Tarkwoski smashed home a stunning leveller deep into stoppage time to lift the roof off the old stadium.

That continued David Moyes' impressive start since returning to Everton, with the Scot banking 10 points in his first five league games to move the Toffees clear of the drop zone.

But Crystal Palace are in even better form, with just one defeat from their last nine games, and the Eagles sit three points clear of Everton in 12th place.

Oliver Glasner has Palace purring again so this is a tough one to call with both teams on good runs.

How the bookies view it: Selhurst spark for Palace

With Glasner's side in terrific form, BoyleSports make Palace their 5/6 favourites with home advantage. Everton are 7/2 outsiders and the draw pays 9/4.

Recent head to head: Toffees on top

Everton have dominated this fixture in recent years and have gone eight games unbeaten against Crystal Palace. Five of those games have ended in victories for the Toffees, including a 2-1 triumph at Goodison earlier this season.

Players to watch: Mateta the main man

Jean-Philippe Mateta is crucial to how Crystal Palace play, with the towering striker a great focal point up front. He's on 13 goals for the season and is 7/4 at BoyleSports to add to that tally here.

Beto has been given a run up front since Moyes' arrival and is starting to hit his stride, with three goals in his last three appearances. The powerful forward is 3/1 for another goal here, which looks a little overpriced.

Probable line-ups

In-form forward Ismaila Sar missed Crystal Palace's FA Cup win over Doncaster with an illness but should be fit to face Everton. Glasner is also hopeful playmaker Eberechi Eze and striker Eddie Nketiah will shake off injuries in time to feature.

Everton's derby point came at cost with playmaker Iliman Ndiaye forced off with injury and Abdoulaye Doucoure picking up a red card that rules him out of this match. Moyes is also still missing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Dwight McNeill, Armando Broja, Seamus Coleman and Orel Mangala.

Crystal Palace: Henderson, Guehi, Richards, Lacroix, Mitchell, Munoz, Lerma, Wharton, Eze, Sarr, Mateta.

Everton: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Alcaraz, Lindstrom, Harrison, Beto.

Anything else catch the eye?

Everton could have a bit of a hangover after that crazy derby, especially with key men Ndiaye and Doucoure missing out. So I fancy Palace to win this one and combining the home win with over 1.5 goals boosts the odds to 7/5 in a BoyleSports bet builder.

Palace have only averaged two corners across their last three games so under 9.5 match corners could be a good option here at 5/4.

There's not much between these teams so the half-time draw is another good option and that pays evens with BoyleSports.

Adam Wharton has returned from injury in the last two games for Palace and if the midfielder starts he looks good value at 6/5 with Bet365 to commit over 0.5 fouls.
