Chelsea vs Leeds

, KO: 20:00 Dec 5, 2020, Stamford Bridge

CHELSEA are unbeaten in 12 games across all competitions and they will be keen to continue their fine form when they lock horns with Leeds on Saturday night.

The big-spending Blues made a shaky start to the season, however, they have shown some notable signs of improvement in recent months and they will be looking to strengthen their title claims when they welcome the Whites to west London.

Frank Lampard's star-studded side have suddenly shored things up at the back and their newfound defensive solidity has fuelled an eye-catching run of eight clean sheets across their last 10 matches.

Indeed, Chelsea and Spurs played out a scrappy stalemate at Stamford Bridge last Sunday, however, the Blues bounced back in style on Wednesday night by brilliantly dismantling Sevilla to secure top spot in Champions League Group E.

Leeds, meanwhile, have impressed with their approach following their promotion and last time out they recorded a well-deserved 1-0 win away at Everton.

Marcelo Biela's men once again demonstrated that they can mix it with the big boys, but a trip to high-flying Chelsea will represent an upgrade on last Saturday's challenge.

Outright Betting

Chelsea have won eight of their last 11 Premier League matches at Stamford Bridge and a Blues success on Saturday is odds-on at 1/2 with Bet 365.

Leeds have won three of their last four top-flight road trips but a capital triumph is an unfancied 5/1 with Unibet, while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 18/5 with the same bookmaker.

Betting Angles

I fancied goals to flow Goodison Park last Saturday evening but a game of many missed chances was settled by a superb strike form Leeds' Raphinha.

Chelsea will be a tougher nut to crack, however, Leeds will attempt to go toe-to-toe with the Londoners and I suspect that could set up a lively battle at Stamford Bridge.

True, Chelsea's defensive improvement this season has been laudable, but forward-thinking Leeds have scored in all five of their Premier League away matches this season so far.

However, the Whites don't have a particularly watertight defence and their cavalier approach could well be their undoing when they come up against the division's joint-top scorers.

Backing both teams to score looks too short to put up at a general 4/7, however, combining BTTS and at least one Leeds card via the Bet 365 Bet Builder will boost the price up to 20/23, and that combination makes appeal.

Leeds have lit up the Premier League this season – six of their 10 fixtures have featured three or more strikes – and another chaotic night could be in-store when they challenge top-heavy Chelsea on Saturday night.

It's also worth noting that Leeds currently occupy a place in the top-five of the fairplay standings and with that in mind, I'm going to recommend another Bet Builder by combining over zero Chelsea goals and over one Leeds card, a 4/5 shot with Bet 365.

The above-mentioned combination has clicked in five of Chelsea's last six matches – one of which I flagged up a fortnight ago – and I'm more than happy to side with the same formula when the Whites come calling this weekend.
