Arsenal face a tough challenge in maintaining their 100% start in the league phase of the Champions League on Wednesday night as they travel to Bavaria to take on Bayern Munich.
Arsenal moved back within three points of Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday afternoon as they ground out a 0-1 victory at the City Ground against Nottingham Forest.
Noni Madueke’s deflected strike in the 80th minute secured a 0-1 success – and helped land a couple of winners for me.
Five days earlier, the Gunners backed up their 0-1 win over Napoli in Naples on MD1 of the league phase of the Champions League with a 3-0 home win over Lille.
Bayern, on the other hand, failed to make it two wins from two in the Champions League last midweek, as they conceded late on in Stavanger to draw 3-3 with reigning Norwegian champions Viking.
However, Vincent Kompany’s men bounced back from that disappointment on Saturday as they thrashed RB Leipzig 6-1, moving them to the top of the Bundesliga table for the first time this season.
How the bookies view it: Bayern favourites
Bayern Munich are favourites to secure all three points at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday night, with bet365 pricing them at Evens.
Arsenal are 12/5 to maintain their 100% start to their league phase campaign, whilst the draw is 14/5.
Head to head: Advantage Bayern
These two clubs have previously met on 15 occasions in the Champions League, with Bayern Munich winning eight times and Arsenal winning just four, with the other three resulting in draws.
However, the Gunners won the most recent clash in the league phase of the Champions League last season, winning 3-1 at the Emirates.
Players to watch: Kane to deliver against Gunners again?
Harry Kane extended his goal tally to nine this season on Saturday for Bayern Munich, as he scored against RB Leipzig.
The England captain has also scored 15 goals across his 22 previous competitive meetings with the Gunners, and pays an appealing 21/20 at bet365 to get on the scoresheet on Wednesday night.

Predicted line-ups:
Bayern Munich will be without the injured Jamal Musiala and the suspended Michael Olise, whilst veteran goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is a doubt.
Arsenal will be without William Saliba, Christos Tzolis and Piero Hincapie due to injury.
Bayern Munich: Urbig, Laimer, Upamecano, Tah, Brown, Kimmich, Pavlovic, Karl, Saibari, Diaz, Kane
Arsenal: Raya, White, Konsa, Gabriel, Calafiori, Guimaraes, Rice, Saka, Odegaard, Madueke, Havertz
Anything else catch the eye?
This clash pits one of the best attacks in Europe against arguably the best defence – and whilst Bayern have a couple of key attackers out for this clash – I don't have it in me to bet on unders in a Bayern Munich game.
Bayern’s 10 matches in all competitions this season have averaged a whopping 4.60 goals per game, with nine (90%) going Over 2.5 Goals, whilst seven (70%) have also seen goals at both ends.
What’s more, Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals has landed in five of the last six meetings between the pair – including a 3-1 Gunners success in North London last season – and a repeat pays a backable 5/6 at bet365.
