ENGLAND need two wins to guarantee a trip to Brazil – and should claim the first of them tonight against Montenegro.
Roy Hodgson's side are taking the qualification battle to the wire after a lacklustre campaign that's seen them beat only Moldova and San Marino.
However, the table-topping English remain unbeaten after home and away draws to Ukraine and a point in Montenegro and Poland.
It's not a perfect situation to be in but Hodgson will expect to take maximum points tonight and at home to Poland on Tuesday and they are 1-1 at William Hill to do so.
Goals have been a huge problem but the return of Wayne Rooney, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck provides the home boss with plenty of options.
Montenegro haven't lost to England in three previous meetings and drew 0-0 on their last visit to Wembley so won't be overawed and it should be close.
Instead of backing England at a short-priced 4-11 (various) look at under 2.5 goals at 21-20 with McBookie.com.
A 1-0 England win is also possible and returns 6-1 at Coral and Ladbrokes.
England have the third best defensive record in qualifying and second best attack but most of their goals have come against San Marino and Moldova.
The player to support for first goal is Liverpool star Sturridge at 5-1 with Ladbrokes and Skybet.
Much has been made of Joe Hart's form but the Man City keeper could have a quiet night against a side whose biggest threat will come from his team-mate Stefan Jovetice in the absence of injured Juventus star Mirko Vucinic.
The striker has had little playing time at the Etihad and could be rusty. England to win to nil has a chance at 1-1 with Ladbrokes.

Not sure about this one. On paper England should win this easily but their qualifying campaign so far has been poor and they were vulnerable against Scotland recently. I am tempted to go for the draw 9/4 at Skybet
It’s worth pointing out Englands record in qualifying matches at home is tremendous! In my life time only ( 29 years) only Croatia, Italy and Germany have defeated them in 59 competitive matches ( Scotland in 1999 was a playoff :)
I fully expect England to win this match against a side who were hammered at home 4-0 by Ukraine and drew 1-1 away to Poland in their last qualifiers! I would agree with Mr F that it could be under 2.5 but i reckon England will manage to score 2 goals ( 1/2) and -1 ( 11/10)
England have stuttered along the full campaign. And with the preasure on and hart not in form. Also wilshere looks unlikely.So gerrard and lanpard looking like they will start. They never play well tofettogether. 9-1 for a montenegro win is a great price but im goung for England 1 Montenegro 2. 33-1 at ladbrokes.

I more or less agree with your selections there Mr F backed up by some good reserch, that said i would rather have a punt on Sturridge @ 6/4 anytime & the evn’s Eng to win both qualifiers. 2.5 goals is right where i’d place the game a coin toss one way or the other so odds against on under 2.5 is a fair price, but listening to the players and manager England are up for this, all depends on how Montenegro approach the game, i’d rather leave the over unders market alone, it’s one of those games that could be 1-0 or 4-1 neither would surprise which ever way yous are betting good luck gents..
Mr brokeit, with Townsend playing it looks like Hodgson is going to be more attack-minded so I’ll be looking at 1-0 and 2-0 correct scores. As long Hart doesn’t throw one in I can’t see Montenegro scoring.
