BRAZIL boosted their hopes of making it through with a late, late show against Costa Rica and Argentina were given a lifeline by Nigeria beating Iceland.
Lionel Messi's flops must beat Nigeria and hope it's enough and they are back to being odds on to qualify at 8-11 with Paddy Power. Nigeria are 2-1 at McBookie and Iceland 7-1 with Paddy Power – and there's every chance Croatia will rest players having already qualified.
Argentina don't inspire confidence and going by what I've seen I wouldn't back them to see off an African side that played well yesterday. Of course if unpopular coach Jorge Sampaoli leaves before the game that could be a different story.
On Saturday first up it's Belgium v Tunisia and the favourites are a short price here.
Later we have Mexico against South Korea and you have to fancy the Central Americans who were so impressive in beating world champions Germany.
Talking of Germany they have to recover their chances of qualifying against Sweden and the evening game should be a belter.
I've posted a preview of all three games and there are separate previews from some of the site contributors so check them out.
Well done to all yesterday's winners – my double was beaten by Iceland losing. If it had come in I'd have covered under 2.5 goals in the Serbia v Switzerland game before the Swiss netted a last-gasp winner.

Just to mix it up a bit, a little rugby bet that I am on.

    Japan v Georgia (6.45am KO)

Georgia over 1.5 team tries @ just over Evens with Coral.

Japan are the better team and I suspect they will win the match without any real issues. Nevertheless, Georgia are no walkover and are one of the great Tier 2 developing teams. In fact, ranking-wise Georgia are ranked only 1 below Japan. They are absolute units and I have no reason to think they won’t maul over 2 tries against a Japanese team that are running with a few injuries.

    GL all

Followed this. The Georgians best get a wriggle on!

      • williams1993 3 months ago

Well Georgia had an absolute shocker. How they go 80 mins without a single point is beyond me. Apologies xhaka!

I am looking to recoup on England over 1.5 team tries at 1.53 odds. Not the best but it will do me. England should be keen to make a point today and a couple of tries should follow

      Reasoning:

France won the second half last time out with a man down. Should give them some confidence going into this one.

Dipping into some of bet 365s newer options today

    Belgium
Lukaku 1.5+ shots on target 4/5
(Expecting him to find the net again)
    Alderweild 1.5+ tackles 4/5

    Germany V Sweden
Marcus berg over 0.5 shots on target 5/6
I’m expecting Germany to have most of the ball today but Sweden are no mugs and think there’s real value for just one shot on target from the swede.

    —————————————————————————————————————–
    World Cup 13:00
Belgium vs Tunisia – Belgium over 3 first half Team corners

    World Cup 19:00
Germany vs Sweden – Germany over 3 second half team corners

    Double 2.85/1 Paddypower **NB**

Going with a large investment in a Group G match again. When Tunisia played England there were five corners at HT (2 from Tunisia, 3 from England). When Belgium played Panama there were nine corners at HT (7 from Belgium, 2 from Panama). With the players that Belgium have I’d expect them to Stretch and get in behind Tunisia (much like England did in the first half) and this should again produce corners as it did against Panama.

    Good luck all

Fancy ze Germany’s tonight they have to win and against an ordinary Sweden team with a sickness bug in the camp.
Mexico attacked Germany from the off with pace and quick ball something Sweden don’t have and we all know when Germany need a win they usually get it.
I think mexico should win as long as they play the same way they did against Germany and also Belgium against a very poor Tunisia side.
And to finish off England to score 2 or more against panama.
    Belgium win
    Mexico win
    Germany win

Not good ? Both bets lost due to an unexpected corner drought in the first half. There was no prolonged rhythm from either team despite the scoreline so just the 2 corners. Bad loss but I’ll take it on the chin. Well done all winners.

Quasimodo returns home from a hard day ringing the bells and sees Esmerelda in the kitchen getting the wok out of a cupboard. “Oh lovely” says Quasi through the doorway “stir fry for tea is it?”

“No,” replies Esmerelda “I’m ironing your f*cking shirts again.”

RENDEZVOUS VS. NOTRE DAME (2200 KO):

I’m taking a late night flit to Barbados armed with a glass of rum and a big fat cigar…I’ve a hunch there could be goals in this one.

Funny old set-up in Barbados with the top-flight being split into zones; Zone 1 and Zone 2 – from memory, each team plays 2 games against their own zone and 1 game against the other…tonight sees a game from the latter round of games and features two of the poorest form teams.

Rendezvous head into this one a big price for the win and have won and drawn just 1 game in their last 7 – not great but to be fair, it’s marginally better form than Notre Dame who head into this one hot favourites having lost 5 back to back matches.

It’s goals that interest me here though and the last 6 H2H’s stretching back over a 3 season spell have seen 6-2-8-4-4 and 3 match goals.  Given the fact Rendevous’ last 12 successive games saw 9-4-5-5-5-8-9-3-10-8-4-6 and Notre Dame’s most recent 3 saw 6-3-6 then it’s highly possible this one could be lively, particularly given the likelihood that both sides could be battling each other to beat the drop this year!

Limited markets currently but asian lines/in-play will be up later and worth keeping an eye on anything around evens for 4 or more goals.

    Best of luck ?
