BOOKIES are the only winners in the World Cup at this stage with two more big favourites failing yesterday.
Germany were poor against Mexico and could even struggle to qualify while Brazil threw away a lead to be held by Switzerland.
That means of the countries most fancied to win the tournament only France have started with a victory – and even that wasn't convincing.
All three games on Sunday went under 2.5 goals and there have only been two overs – Russia v Saudia Arabia and Spain v Portugal – so hopefully that trend doesn't continue when the second-round starts on Tuesday.
On Monday it's the turn of Belgium and England to get their campaigns under way and they'll be feeling better about themselves after seeing so many struggle early on.
Belgium are huge odds on against Panama and England are around 1-2 to beat Tunisia and I expect both to come through unscathed.
I've posted a preview of both games and there are separate previews from contributors as well as Voice of Value's look at Sweden v South Korea. I agree with his assessment about a Sweden win and under 2.5 match goals.
On Sunday I kept is simple with a Germany/Brazil and it was simply a loser.
My Monday bets are reasoned on the other post – Romelu Lukaku to score first for Belgium and England and Belgium to win to nil.
Well done to all of last night's winners including Ace Venturer whose confident tip on Brooks Koepka to win the US Open landed nicely in a thrilling finish. Star of the day though was Tommy Fleetwood who was one back after a stunning 63 and surely his time will come soon – maybe even at The Open in Carnoustie where he holds the course record.

been looking at 2 games of the opening games and debating with taking them on cant shake my gut feeling and with winning few challenges this month im going for it, not asking anyone to follow but i genuinly think belgium are going to win 4 or 5 nil and england at least 3 nil i might be completely wrong but cant shake the feeling off so putting my money where my mouth is, prices are falling so got on them now just incase.

    €100 belgium game over 1.5 fhg 7/5 returns €240
    €100 belgium game over 2.5 fhg 11/2 returns €650
    €100 belgium -1 1st half 12/5 returns €340
    €100 belgium -2 6/4 returns €250
    €100 belgium -3 4/1 returns €500
    ——————————————————————————–
    €100 england game over 1.5 fhg 11/5 returns €320
    €100 england ht result 1/1 returns €200
    €100 england -1 1st half 9/2 returns €550
    €100 england -1 5/4 returns €225
    €100 england -2 7/2 returns €450

    England v Tunisia
Tunisia to score 6-5 (nap) based on the fact that englands 3 centre halfs aint world class and the fact they might play 3 centre halfs says everything.

wahbi khazri anytime scorer 7-1 (marathonbet)
khazri to score and 1-1 result 22-1
khazri to score and 2-1 England win 25-1
khazri to score and 3-1 England win 45-1

    belguim v panama
most goals 2nd half evens (nap)
panama will probably put up stern resistance up to a point but tire late on when belguim bring on their subs.
never been convinced with belguim in major competitions and their manager is below the standard required to manage this menagerie of individuials but should get over the line in the end.
    1-0 ht 3-0 ft maybe.
and fellaini might even score, lol

Sweden v south korea sounds dull and cant muster an opinion myself.
Sweden will be like the other Scandinavian teams, well organised and hard to break down.
korea will be enthusiastic but lacking quality.
    under 2.5 probably.

best bet maybe gary lineker to make some catty remark about a half dressed Swedish lady smiling at the camera !

    Tunisia v England
Tunisia double chance at 9/5 (NAP)*****
England start their campaign against an energetic Tunisian side and in this game England won’t get a second on the ball,it looks an easy game on paper for England but it will be anything but. What England need for this kind of game is a few old heads and Experience but it’s something they don’t have as they are a young squad and this could be a telling factor in the game, for me i don’t see this England team doing enough to see this game out against a team that presses for 90 mins.
Tunisia to score over 1.5 goals at 7/1 (NB)
    Best of Luck

Hopefully Kane plays better than Firmino did last night dear me he was appalling

          • acsafc 3 months ago

Brazil’s best player? Haha missed an absolute sitter and blasted another over the bar. Your bias towards all things Liverpool is embarrassing at times. I bet you voted Salah man of the Mach against Uruguay lol

        • acsafc 3 months ago

Not in the same league as Jesus that’s why he won’t get a move to one of the big clubs.

          • maccathered 3 months ago

He’s at one of the biggest clubs in the world anyway, why would he want to move???Best player in the premier league by a country mile last season.

      • maccathered 3 months ago

They scored 2 past Turkey 2 past Portugal and really shouldn’t of lost to Spain, they only lost that due to a defensive error, only friendlies but a good indicator of how they play.

slightly concerned about first game nerves with the Belgium and England matches

yesterday’s performances really are food for thought – obviously Panama and Tunisia are inferior sides compared to Mexico and Switzerland but still… not sure I’m convinced either match will be a goal-fest.

    • alex_mufc83 3 months ago

      Therefore small stake on the following;

      Sweden v South Korea – U2.5 mgls
      Belgium v Panama – U3.5 mgls
      England v Tunisia – U2.5 mgls
      5/2

  11. xhaka khan 3 months ago

I’ve been going unders on match offsides in the last 2 days.

I have won 5/6, although one of those I cashed out on 87 mins and it then lost so it was a good decision to cash out.

Linesmen have been instructed that if in doubt to let VAR decide and teams are playing cautiously.

As it’s early days I’m doing £5 on each today and £2 treble.

Cash out around 87 minutes if you’re offered 90%+ of stake.

It’s a double mate haha. Why not I have no doubt hel score one or two obviously il have them on but worth a small stake.

I don’t think england will win by many. We all know what we can be like in tournaments. Were probably looking at an 89th min penalty

      • alex_mufc83 3 months ago

        ah yeah, got ya!

yeah I think it will be low-scoring too, plus England have a poor record in first Group games in the World Cup.

        • hampy 3 months ago

I think our group will wholly depend on who scores the most against Panama. Tunisia don’t seem to concede many and I think wel scrape a draw against Belgium… Will most likely be a complete shambles of a prediction that. GL tonight pal

I keep getting lured into first half goals expecting these teams to come out and set the pace early on, thats the last time for a while just going see how it pans out because clearly very tight games, or teams set up to just defend. Needs a pen or a worldie (aka Coutinho) to open things up going off many of the games so far

      • buzzer 3 months ago

nearly every game so far has been under 2.5 goals many teams are sounding themselves out as time progresses e.g the next and final round of group fixtures and teams know what they need to do in oder to progress the goals should fly in and then ht/ft results would be better to take I feel

I say lost but cashed out for profit so no loss to me,England can’t keep playing Sterling just because of his price tag,the game pretty much went as i expected apart from the late winner from England,it’s a good result for England but it doesn’t paper over the cracks with Raheem Sterling,i didn’t like him at Liverpool, certainly don’t rate him as a footballer whatsoever.
    Well done all winners

    • mr h 3 months ago

Lingaard ain’t much better tbh and if Ashley Young is the best English left back then it’s a sad reflection of the level English football is at now. Kane apart the rest are over rated and nowhere near world class

    • xhaka khan 3 months ago

He was poor today but to say you don’t taste him as a footballer either suggests bias or poor judgment. Neville and Ian Wright did an expose on Ronaldo and Henry when they were young at United and arsenal and showed that Sterling’s record was better than both. I’d play Rashford before him, but “dont rate him whatsoever…” is sheer buffoonery.

      • xhaka khan 3 months ago

        Rate ^!!

      • maccathered 3 months ago

Sheer bafoonery lol,i don’t rate Sterling one bit,his ego is way to big and his wages and price tag makes him think he is world class (which he isn’t).I’m pretty sure if he could shrug off his big headedness and train harder then he would become a little better,he certainly is NOT GOOD ENOUGH to play for England.

        • xhaka khan 3 months ago

His record is better than Ronaldo and Henry at the same age. And look what they became.

He’s 22. He’s a tremendous footballer who lacks confidence in an England shirt.

However, he was part of a team that won the league title at an absolute canter who scored record number of goals and record number of points. How can you not rate him. And I’m a Wycombe fan before you assume I support City
