THE weekend card is split over two days so while I've tried to focus on Saturday games there are some Sunday ones among my top tips.
My Scottish preview focuses on Sunday's Old Firm clash but I have picked out my best bets from Saturday's lower-league games.
I've also posted an English preview but it's easier down south as all we have on Saturday are seven Premier League matches.
There was no Super Single shortlist this week because the turnaround between Thursday night and now was too short and I've been up against it with two Daily Record pages to be filled and not much writing possible until Friday morning.
There aren't as many top tips as usual and I have to admit I've spent less time on them than I normally do so please bear that in mind. I may add to them in the morning.
There are no Saturday VIP Tips as the card is too small. In the Daily Record I've picked four draws at Brighton, Burnley and Newcastle on Saturday and at St Mirren on Sunday. Trebles and fourfold advised with all four paying 170-1 at Marathonbet.
On Friday my only bet was a double beaten by Dundee United not scoring a second against Dundee and that was a surprise as they netted inside five minutes.
Well done to all the winners including maccathered who tipped Wolves to beat Man City at 7-1 and he wouldn't have fancied it when they trailed 2-0.

Dunfermline have won 5 on thee bounce at home scoring 15 goals in them 5 games. Alloa last 8 out of ten in all comps have seen over 2 landing. Dunfermline are in fine for and sit 3rd in form table scoring 12 and conceding 8 while Alloa sit bottom scoring 4 conceding 9 in last 5. Dunfermline have Nisbet who is second to shankland in the scoring department with 14 goals.
Dumbarton v Stranraer
This is top of the form table vs bottom while Dumbarton have scored 9 conceding 7 Stranraer have conceded 14 scoring 2 stanrear also sit bottom of the whole away league table playing 9 scoring only 7 but conceding 24 goals and 7 out of last 8 away games have gone over 2.5. Dumbarton have won there last 4/5 scoring 11 goal s.
Brechin v Albion rovers
This is a league 2 clash with sees both teams in the last 5 game s see 20 goals Brechin and 19 goals Albion rovers that’s some going. Brechin last 9/10 games home and away have seen over 2.5 goals and alboins last 8/9 have seen over 2.5. Brechin sit second in form table scoring 12 conceding 8 while Albion sit second bottom scoring 8 conceding 11 so both full of goals while also conceding.

Looks like an over reaction from bookies to a Man Utd victory making them ridiculous odds on shouts away to Burnley
I’d rather look at recent away results such as Watford as a guide and they face a Burnley team who always put up a fight and who have home form this season which underneath the main figures holds up well – losses to Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea and Palace gets wins against everyone else
Burnley will put pressure on which I expect will provide scope for a couple of corners minimum and a card

Celtic vs Rangers
Can’t wait for this game. As a Celtic fan I’ll be hoping that Celtic play better than they did in the cup final. Saying that, Celtic were missing several key players including their main striker for the majority of the game and played with 10 men for a third of the game and still came off winners. I expect a Celtic victory here, possibly 2-0. For First Goalscorer I’m going with Christopher Jullien. He’s 28/1 for first goalscorer and 12/1 for anytime. I had considered Ajer who is 33/1 and 14/1 however Jullien seems to know where the net is. Chris Sutton commented that Ajer doesn’t score as many goals as he should given his size and I agree. Jullien scored the winner in the cup final and he’ll be confident he can find the net again. Another bet I like the look of is Ryan Christie to score anytime from outside the box which is available at a decent 22/1. A market most punters look at in this fixture is cards. There are some rather strange odds floating about. I have a gut instinct about Ryan Jack being sent off at 50/1 and I can’t ignore Allan McGregor to be sent off at 100/1. I’m not sure who the odds compilers are at Skybet but they have Allan McGregor priced as 9/1 favourite to be sent off yet Bet365 offer 100/1. That’s just complete madness. If that wasn’t strange enough Skybet have Morelos at 18/1 to be sent off so going by the odds they think McGregor is twice as likely than Morelos to be sent off. That brings us onto Morelos. He’s 20/1 with Bet365 to be sent off which in my opinion is short. Instead do a Bet365 bet builder of Morelos to be sent off and Scott Brown to be booked at 66/1.

For anyone doing the fhgs and 0.1.5mgls in the national league done the manual input on b365 and coral ball ache.
for a 1pt stake b365 108 coral 142 0.1.5mgls the next one is unbelievable b365 359 coral 605 fhgs

Ladbrokes online is consistently usually around 20 – 25% higher than everyone else for the 0.5 FHG market (and that’s without the boost)
If you can get on a couple of days before, you can often get 30% more (the compounding effect of a small increase in each match compounded over 10 – 12 matches soon adds up)
Another observation: The SkyBet specials can often be poor value when compared to Sky’s own normal prices! For example, 0.5 FHGs in all 12 National games is 40.4/1 if done individually, yet 40/1 on their “specials”. In this case, no major difference, but you can cash out an individual ACCA inplay while you can’t cash out a “special”.
Alright alex_mufc83 it was for the 0.5 first half goals but doesn’t matter now as it’s lost.

Rodgers was never going to play Vardy today – he already said that. Every EPL team will rotate because of the number of games so be careful with stakes and if you can see line-ups before betting.

VAR is a shambles in England because of how they use it. I’ve not seen the Norwich goal but at least when it comes to offsides it’s factual. A players either offside or not no matter the margins. It’s the subjective ones they consistently make a mess of
I’m all for it Greg – The standard of refereeing in Scotland is terrible – when one referee can’t be consistent from one week to the next never mind all of them what chance do you have – the sooner we get VAR the better, it just needs to be implemented correctly – the EPL version is the worst of all the top leagues
VAR doesn’t do anything to combat the standard of reffing in my opinion. It’s awful. I do hope it goes at the end of the season but fear it’s hear to stay

I feel like it’s got to be worth having a swing at Shef United tomorrow. They are in great form, strong away from home, playing a City side who have had just one days rest which they’ve presumably spent wondering how on earth their title defence has ended before the New Year.
Shef win is 12/1 and obvious only warrants some low level interest backing, but I feel there must be a bit of value in backing the double chance @ 16/5 and United to score at least once at even money (especially with Ederson out)
