I was happy to stick with Three Platoon who finally got the job done, I had no idea Rizzel was going with it so had I left it, I would have been kicking myself. He went on the nose, and combined with my inclusion I hope a few managed to benefit.
Today's runners aren't overly appealing but this is a long-term betting prospect and there will be days like this when little appeals.
Attacanter Racing Tips
Thunder Ball 4/1 3 places – 14.55 Goodwood
Thunder Ball won here last October and sits just behind Rhoscolyn in the market, he returns trying to win this race back to back. S D Bowen is working away his claim nicely and gets a chance for Paul and Oliver Cole who have 8 winners from 35 runners over the previous two years here, 15 in total have placed, with in an extra place in such a race I am siding with the slection at a prohibitive price.
The ground is set to be testing, the October win was from 4lbs lower on soft which is encouraging enough, hopefully the heavy is manageable up against some more tested on the surface. There is little value here but I'll chance the promising apprentince on his only ride.
Solitary Man 7/1 five places – 16.20 Listowel
Enda Bolger's gelding has a very consistent profile, he is pitched into a Grade 3 as current joint market leader. He has two wins and two 2nds from his four Novice starts.
The trainer has noted his good form but is cautious given the nature of the race, ‘we'll be a lot wiser afterwards' – I am hopeful as I am sure the trainer is, that this horse is capable up against some more battle hardened campaigners.
There are plenty of dangers in this, I was initially drawn to the race because of The Real Whacker, seeing Sam travel over was a clear positive for the Grade 1 winner. Given we are ahead of him in the market, with the booking of Derek O'Connor we take our chance the horse is ready to mix it at this level.
Liseo 12/1 four places – 19.00 Kempton
We have a fair bit to take on chance with Liseo but he is officially on a C&D hatrick dating back to January. His eight runs inbetween those victories don't appeal on paper but he is rated 80, having won off 81 and 82.
The Simon and Ed Crisford stable were sending out of a few winners not that long ago, they sent two to Wolverhampton on Saturday getting a win and a 2nd. The Crisford yard are 20% at Kempton, unfortunately most of their winners are relatively short but we know there's a bit too much hope in this selection but the price is big on his best.
Kode Secret 9/1 five places – 17.40 Redcar
Kode Secret won twice this season back in May and June, the latter of which was when beating 11 rivals over today's C&D rated just 2lbs lower than today. The form of that race is solid enough but I am siding with this horse based on its run last time.
Although well beat by the winner who is instilled in this race as favourite. We are only in receipt of 6lbs but at twice the price I hope we can put in a repeat performance and fill one of the five places. In a race such as this, I don't admittedly like our win prospects but his consistent run this year does make me hopeful he will be fully trying again today with a 10th nd 12th now behind him.
The yard didn't send many decent runners to this track at this time last year but 2 of the 5 he sent here a week ago placed which is fine enough given we know were we stand.

WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
