It was a profitable return from France for the Adrian Murray stable as Arizona Blaze made the most from a nice break from the stalls and nicked the race at Chantilly.

The race looked over two furlongs from home as Arizona Blaze was travelling smoothly under David Egan whilst a few were already under the pump. When David asked Arizona to stretch, he was instantly the winner as the nearest horse in the market was stuck behind a wall of horses, and by the time any horse looked like a danger, he nicked lengths on them and managed to win cosily in the end to a fast finishing outsider.

Crazy that he drifted in the market to 11/4 second favourite, as I was convinced he would be close to odds-on.

Physique 5/1 – Newmarket 1.50

It's hard to be too confident in races like this where there are many in with a chance, but I thought Physique was in with a very good chance after a nice stable debut at Doncaster a couple of weeks ago.

This horse was previously trained in Ireland for Micky Fenton but arrived at Pam Sly's yard over the winter, and he made a very eyecatching debut over 6f. Oisin Murphy took the ride and it was his first ever ride for Pam Sly which was an eyecatching booking, and he keeps the ride for today's race, and when you watch the race back, it looks like they had a race in mind down the line, and I think today's race was the goal for the early part of this season.

Oisin was clearly riding to instruction at Doncaster; he didn't throw the kitchen sink at this horse until very late on, but at that point, the race was already sewn up by the horses on the other side of the track. Physique travelled beautifully through the race and was the last off the bridle, so it's not a surprise that the stewards wanted an explanation from Oisin, who said he was told to ride the way he did due to the horse being keen. In his defence, the horse was keen in the early stages, but it did look a tad dodgy and looked like a potential prep run.

The forecast rain should be beneficial to this horse as he had form on slower ground in Ireland, and I think this stiffer track will play to his strengths as he was very strong at the finish. He has been well found in the market, which isn't a surprise, but I think 5/1 is still decent value.

King Of Cities 10/1 EW – Newmarket 2.25

This race is a belter for a Tuesday, and it's definitely a competitive renewal based on the horses turning up. We have some horses who are already rated in the 100s and some potential improvers, and I've decided to side with a horse who should have matured plenty over the winter months based on his pedigree.

King Of Cities is my selection for this Feilden Stakes Listed race over 9f on the Rowley Mile. We're in a strange position with this meeting as the ground is Good To Firm on Monday evening, but the weather forecasts are suggesting a fair amount of rain in the early hours of Tuesday and throughout the day, so given they have already watered the track, this could become good to soft or slightly worse if the expected rain lands, so having a horse who handles softer conditions is likely the play to go for. My selection is proven on this ground after finishing second in a Class 2 at Newbury on soft ground, as well as being by Dubawi, who has an 18% SR as a Sire on soft ground. To add to this, the Dam, Ajman Princess was effective on any going.

My horse has a fair bit to find against the proven horses, but as I mentioned yesterday, horses from two to three can improve plenty for the winter months of resting, where maturing can happen at a rate of knots. This statement is also enhanced by the pedigree as the Dam got better with age, and other horses further into the Dam's side of the pedigree suggest this as well, Triple Time being a standout.

Ryan Moore is booked for the ride, which is an obvious plus, but it's a booking which caught my eye. Ryan does ride for Richard Hannon and was an apprentice for the yard many moons ago, but Sean Levey is the stable jockey, so you'd expect him on board. Ryan won this race for Richard Hannon back in 2016.

He is 10/1 in the betting at the moment and is very weak in the market. You can get bigger odds outside of Bet365, but we're instructed to stick with Bet365 prices for the most part.
