Not coming away with at least one winner on Saturday is always a shame, and dents the balance a lot more when there are four selections.

Hunter Legend was never at the races and looked miles off it.

Indemnity was given every chance to win his race, but his jumping was atrocious when it really mattered. I still firmly believe he is 10lbs ahead of the handicapper, at the very least.

Doyen Du Bar made some errors towards the end of his race, and it was probably tiredness causing that. He might have needed the run, and is one to keep an eye on next time out.

Jasmin De Grugy was another who couldn't put in a clean round of jumping and looked very laboured.

Juby Ball EVS (1pt) – Carlisle 12.45

I'm not one for putting up a lot of short-priced horses, but Sunday's selections are all on the short side.

Juby Ball makes the trip up to Carlisle from South Wales for his chasing debut. Both Adam Wedge and Connor Ring are injured, but we have James Bowen in the saddle, who is a good replacement.

Race fitness will have to be taken on trust, but he won fresh last season after 343 days away from the track, so he will likely be ready.

Given how they've fast-tracked him over fences, he will surely make a better chaser than hurdler. He was still a very solid novice, winning both starts over the small obstacles and doing it easily on both occasions.

I'd imagine the other short-ish priced horse in the race is the main rival, but Sean Bowen hasn't made the trip up, so they can't be confident of beating Juby Ball.

The Burren Man 5/4 (1pt) – Carlisle 1.15

I'm not sure why Paul O'Brien hasn't got a ride till next Wednesday, but there's obviously a reason, as he would definitely be up for the ride on The Burren Man.

Brendan Powell has been the man to get the call-up, and given that this is his sole ride of the day at Carlisle, it's a positive.

Brendan is based with Joe Tizzard down in Somerset, so taking this huge trek up to Carlisle must mean he's been promised to be on a rocket.

Harry Derham is very shrewd with his long-distance runners, and in a race which doesn't look fantastic, he is the one to beat at short odds.

Loveable Reprobate 6/4 (1pt) – Carlisle 3.23

One of the yards in fantastic form at the moment is Jamie Snowden's. Jamie has been pumping out winners at a solid strike rate for at least a month now, and he is another trainer who is one to follow when his runners are sent on long distances.

He recently had a bumper winner on debut at Taunton at short odds, so I'm not bothered about this one being short odds with no experience.

He has a lovely flat sire, who has produced some solid bumper horses in his short career as a jumps stallion, which is what you need in these bumper races.

GOING with Money back Top 3 @ 10/3
Was really impressed with Gameball on debut so I marked him down and on his 2nd run he beat a W.Mullins short priced favourite as did one or two others but he was by far the best.
Needs to improve but of course has plenty scope for that
