Although not fancied in the market, Rizz will be disappointed in the performance from his sole selection yesterday.
Findthetime ran like a horse that had never jumped an obstacle before, and in the end, he tailed off to finish 44L behind the eventual winner.
Rizz is busy tonight and unable to cover Saturday's racing, but he will return tomorrow evening with Sunday's selection.
I was originally meant to cover a Lucky 15 bet for Saturday's card, but I don't have time to cover that many horses in the time I have. I will be back tomorrow night with one for Sunday.
I will also be helping the guys out throughout the week with Grand National content, so keep your eye out on the home screen towards the end of the week for new articles going live. The Grand National has been kind to us in recent times, particularly last year when we had the winner and second.
If you have any ante-post bets for the National or in general, please feel free to post them in the comments!
Cairnzy's Tips
Rubies From Burma 7/1 EW – Kempton 3.15
I'm going to take a chance on the improving Irish raider Rubies From Burma, who looks an interesting contender in this contest.
My selection hails from the Henry De Bromhead yard and remains a lightly raced sort at the age of 4. She is bred to be a smart sort, being a half sister to a previous Derby winner in Anthony Van Dyck.
Rubies From Burma has only had the three runs under Henry De Bromhead, but has improved massively with each run. She got off the mark at the third attempt in a maiden at Cork over a mile. There was plenty to like about that performance, so be it only a maiden, but she stormed clear to win by just over 6L and looked to have plenty in the locker.
The runner-up has since gone on to win, so the form looks somewhat okay. That victory has earned her an OR of 90, which means she still has a fair bit to find with the 111-rated favourite Soprano, but with further improvement expected, I'm happy to take a risk on her.
Soprano is dropped in Grade for this reappearance and is expected to win under jockey William Buick, but I thought 8/11 was a tad short. Rubies From Burma is drawn in stall one, and I'm hoping Oisin Murphy can pop her out in a handy position and hopefully make a race of it into the straight.
Camille Pissarro 11/4 – Curragh 4.00
After checking previews of this contest online, most seem to think this is rather competitive, but after analysing the field, I don't believe it's that competitive at all.
I was surprised not to see Camille Pissarro marked up as a favourite for this contest, but a price of 11/4 makes for an even better bet and one that I'm more than happy to get involved in.
The forecast ground at the Curragh is soft, and they are expecting some light showers throughout the morning, which should confirm the ground being on the testing side of things. The soft ground conditions should be right up Camille Pissarro's street as he made it two wins from two on soft ground recently when landing a Group 1 over in France.
Notably, Camille Pissarro wasn't the only O'Brien representative in that contest and was the less fancied of the two, with Henri Mattise being the pick of stable jockey Ryan Moore. As previously mentioned, I don't believe this contest is that competitive, with most of this field appearing quite exposed. Karl Burkes Poet Master is one of the few exceptions to that statement, but I would be worried about the ground conditions for that one, with most of his better form coming on a quicker surface.
