When asked to go and win the race, Warrendale Wagyu ran very green under pressure, he received a bump or two in running which appeared to light him up a bit and his chances of winning were gone in a flash. My second selection Where's Jeff ran with credit to finish fourth but missed out on the placings by one, so was therefore a losing selection.

There is a decent flat meeting at Carlisle on Wednesday and an average-looking meeting at Salisbury. I've picked out three selections that I like below.

Red Pixie 7/4 – Carlisle 17.15

My sole selection on Wednesday comes in the finale at Carlisle in the shape of Red Pixie for trainer Sir Michael Stoute.

I tipped her up on her previous outing at Windsor at the start of the month, she could only manage second on that occasion, however, it was a much-improved effort from her previous two outings. She goes handicapping of a mark of 79, she's from a smart Juddmonte family and is very much expected to be better than a mark of 79 in due course.

On debut she ran very green in the business end, seemingly not knowing the job at hand when asked to go and win the race. I thought she traveled well on debut and only really showed greenness in the final couple of furlongs, which is to be expected more times than most on debut. In her next race at Yarmouth in April, she was sent off a 5/2 favorite but had to settle for third place, losing by just over a length to the well-regarded newcomer Run Away. The second-place finisher, Cat Ninja, has since won a race, whilst also placing second and finishing midpack at Royal Ascot in the Sandringham.

My selection is sent back up in trip to 7f and if settling throughout the race should take all the beating as it doesn't look like a tough race on paper.

Jockey William Buick takes the ride for Sir Michael Stoute, Buick isn't known for riding at Carlisle and he stays to the death to take the ride on Red Pixie, which may be a subtle clue in itself.

Jabaara 10/11 – Carlisle 15.35

Jabaara is short enough in the market at odds on, but I'm confident that she holds the credentials to land this contest, and for that reason, I'll put my head on the line and put her up as a selection.

Jabaara got her career off to a flyer when winning on her debut at Newmarket last season. Following that impressive debut, she was highly tried as a juvenile, running four times and seemingly thrown in at the deep end too soon. Regardless, to cap off the year, she finished sixth behind Porta Fortuna, a strong piece of form to take into this race given that one went on to finish runner-up in the 1000 Guineas and then win the Coronation Stakes last week at Royal Ascot.

My selection comes here in good nick after recently winning a listed contest at Musselburgh in decisive fashion. She has a 3lb penalty to contend with for that recent success but given she has about 8lb in hand on official ratings on this field, she is clearly the one to beat.

Crown Estate 13/8 – Sailsbury 15.15

Only six runners go to post for this race but it's a decent looking handicap on paper. The horse that looks the most likely winner is surely the Gosden-trained Crown Estate, who stands out at the weights now taking on some older sorts.

My selection comes here in decent nick having finished second behind Liveandletlive, a progressive and exciting-looking sort from Muir & Grassick yard.

The form of that run received a boost recently with the third coming out and winning next time out in a class 4 handicap over the mile. Crown Estate comes here 3lb higher but I believe there is more to come from him at this level. Connections have opted for first-time cheekpieces that I hope will ease out that little bit more from in.

Morning All. .Dont think ive ever been first to post before. But great day so were off out .

    WORCESTER

15.23. .Watergate Jack. .9/2. NB. E/W . Was at Bangor about a month ago when his ran was beat about 20 length by todays favourite Hometown Boy but thought it will improve especially with faster ground which we have today so hoping it will run closer and at least get a place.

    16.28. .Jumeirah King. .6/1. . NAP. .E/W

    17.40. .Bergentown. .11/1 . . E/W. .Took 25/1 last night but still 11/1.. 10/1 with most so still a decent E/W price.
Although taking a chance here again watched this at Bangor but about a year ago when it won a novice hurdle ,Finished well over 2m 3f today 2m 4f .,But has done nothing since running down the field so more hoping it can return to that Bangor form worth a small go.

    Naas 6.30 De Janeiro

I’ve not backed it as the favourite is odds on but this is a Dermot Weld horse and apparently the jockey, John Velazquez, is flown in for the race and getting his first taste of Irish racing. He’s not a big price but Weld must fancy it’s chances to do this
