Mahboob was very poor yesterday and I've no idea what went wrong. I thought the horse was going okay but he quickly went backwards and in the blink of an eye, he wasn't even in the camera shot.

Not much jumped out to me as a bet on Monday, which tends to be the case most Mondays as the racing is normally pants. After a bit of digging, I decided to have a small play on a horse running at Redcar.

Arctic Mountain 4/1 – Redcar 4:00

I fancy the chances of Arctic Mountain in this contest who should be competitive off a mark of 79 in this race.

Arctic Mountain is a lightly raced horse, having just four career starts to date. His first three starts in maiden and novice company were somewhat encouraging and they gave a platform to build on for trainer Saeed Bin Suroor.

I'm more than happy to draw a line through Arctic Mountain's most recent outing as he appeared to be lacking race fitness.

He was making his handicap debut on that occasion and was a well-beaten third on the day despite going off favorite. I caught a replay of the race, and I don't feel the horse coped well with the soft ground. I'm hoping a more sound surface will see him in a better light.

His run at Chelmsford last August was probably his best run and is a strong piece of form to take into this contest. He was beaten by a neck by the 88-rated Al Anoud who boosted the form by winning next time out under a penalty.

    Saint cloud 🇫🇷

    2-50 melo Melo 4-1 NAP 🏇

So good they named him twice 🤣
Group 3 races with James Doyle here to ride for top stable in graffard.
Beat at 1-4 on on season debut so hoping he had a lot of cobwebs to blow away that day when ridden by Doyle.
The fact the doyler is back on board suggests he thinks he will go better today.

Last September he finished 2nd in a group 1 at longchamp with today’s favourite pensee du jour back in 7th.
Also behind that day was the impressive blue rose cen.
Melo Melo also gave these 2 horses 8 pound that day.
Today see’s melo Melo and pensee du jour running off level weights

    4-35 stangheli 5-2

Finished a head behind today’s favourite retouch last month both beat by stangheli’s stablemate will Scarlett who was ridden by barzalona.
Barzalona rides stangheli today so hopefully rates the horse enough to take the mount.

Won this last year, odds on favourite switch hitter has been pulling up in races recently which is never a good thing

My local bookie usually puts up some Jockey specials but none today so I have done a small stake L15 on the first four races at Redcar that Jason Hart has. It’s only for fun so we shall see

This one is on my tracker from it’s bumper runs and it’s done absolutely nothing. First run on the flat probably an experiment dropping back in trip. 100/1 so small stakes obviously ew or ew extra
