racing tips daily 2

Unfortunately, both of Cairnzy's tips were losers on Sunday.

I was a big fan of Raadobarg and he would've been a selection for me if I was covering yesterday. I didn't get time to watch the races due to other commitments, so I can't comment on how his horses ran, but going off the reviews, he was never in the race at any stage.

Rizzel's tips

Continuance 7/4 – Fontwell 3.12

I was expecting Continuance to be an odds-on shot for this race as he arrives with two wins from his four hurdle runs, and his 8lb rise in the handicap is offset by Freddie Keighley taking off 10lbs. Thankfully, the oddsmakers don't think the form is too strong, or they think this juvenile will struggle against some of these older horses.

You can definitely argue today's race is a tougher assignment than last time out, but he is effectively better at the weights than he was for his win 28 days ago, so surely he has a very good chance of winning this. The inexperienced rider in the saddle is an obvious concern, but at least he knows this horse as he has ridden him twice on the flat and with him being the son of the trainer, he'll have sat on him at home plenty of times, so it's not too much to worry about.

I actually think the form of Continuance's last run is decent form. The runner-up was beaten by five lengths but arrived at Ludlow with two wins on his two previous starts. The third-placed horse has since won a Class 3 handicap on his next start and won it by 9L, so the form has been boosted.

Milan Forth 5/1 – Down Royal 4.47

It's probably not the smartest decision to have a bet in Hunters' Chase races, as you put your money in the hands of amateur jockeys. However, I thought that Milan Forth was a fairly safe option in this race as you know what you'll get, whereas, his main opposition is very unpredictable.

I am normally a fan of backing David Christie runners in these races, but his horse Big Interest has been poor on his last two starts since winning at today's venue in December, beating It's On The Line. That form looks rock-solid on paper as he is now a three times runner-up performer at the Cheltenham Festival, but I think that horse was primed for the Festival, so his beating of that horse doesn't speak volumes. He has since finished 22L back in fourth of nine and PU last time out.

The JP horse trained by E Bolger is an interesting runner as he is bred to enjoy the decent racing ground and has a winning sibling over fences at a similar distance, but he is a total unknown and is respected purely on the trainer and owner combination.

Milan Forth has won three PTPs, and has finished in the places of five others. He is 1/1 as a chaser over rules, and that came in a 2m 4f race in January when he won quite nicely in the end. His form from the PTPs looks decent, finishing second to Winged Leader is solid form and the third to Carnfunnock has turned out quite good, as that horse has run respectably at big odds at the Festival last week. He is proven at this trip and he has previously shown a liking to the good ground. He is now with Adrian Murray, which is a strange stable switch, as we know Adrian for his flat training, but he can churn out winners over the jumps too. What is interesting is the stable form who is 4/10 in the last fortnight and we know he can ready a horse.
