Mauritius Open betting tips

The final DP World Tour event of the year takes place this weekend and what a venue for it as the players head to Mont Choisy in Mauritius.

For the second week in a row, the tournament is co-sanctioned by the DP World Tour and Sunshine Tour, which means there is a strong African contingent in the field this week but unfortunately, last year's winner Louis Oosthuizen won't be taking part.

The event has been around since 2015, and this week marks the second time that it has been played at Mont Choisy. The last time it was played here was in 2022, and Frenchman Antoine Rozner won it and the Frenchman is back this week to see if he can do it again.

The course is a par 72, but it is on the small side with wide fairways, so the bigger hitters can get aggressive this week without too much risk. There are five par fives to be attacked on the course and there are also a couple of par driveable par fours so we could be in for a low-scoring week.

What makes this week particularly interesting is the players taking part. Only one player inside the world's top 150 is set to tee it up, making this a very open event.

Here are our Mauritius Open betting tips for the first tee times.

Alfred Dunhill Championship betting tips

Antoine Rozner EW (Eight places) – 7/1

Antoine Rozner comes into this event as the favourite with all of the best golf betting sites for a number of reasons. Firstly, he is the highest-ranked player at the tournament, with a world ranking of 145. Secondly, he was the comfortable winner the last time the Mauritius Open was held at this venue.

Two years ago, Rozner finished with a score of -19, enough for him to win by five shots. On that week, he ranked first for putting average and first for greens in regulation and in many ways, it was a clinic on how to play these resort-type courses.

Rozner also has some form coming in this week, which should help him get on his way. On his last three starts on the DP World Tour, he has finished third, sixth and fourth and the competition in those events was far stronger than it will be this week.

John Parry EW (Eight places) – 22/1

John Parry is back on the DP World Tour this season after being promoted back up from the Challenge Tour. During his year on the Challenge Tour in 2024, the 38-year-old won three events and will be hopeful of faring better on the DP World Tour in the years to come.

The signs are positive for Parry so far and there is every indication that he has brought his Challenge Tour form with him. He has played in all three events of the new DP World Tour season and already has two top-ten finishes to his name.

Parry finished just one shot behind the winner, Shaun Norris, at the Alfred Dunhill Championship last week and will be quietly confident about his chances in Mauritius.

Oliver Bekker EW (Eight places) – 80/1

South Africa's Oliver Bekker is our dark horse pick for the Mauritius Open. The 40-year-old has no form to speak of, but at 80/1, he is worth a punt for a couple of reasons.

Firstly, Bekker will be the longest driver in the field which should give him an advantage on the drivable par fours and five par fives. Throughout 2024, only Rory McIlroy had a longer average driving distance than Bekker which gives an indication on just how powerful he is.

Secondly, his record in Mauritius is excellent. He has competed in each edition of the Mauritius Open since it was launched in 2015 and he has only finished outside the top ten on two occasions. When the tournament was last held at Mont Choisy, he finished in seventh position proving that this is a course that suits his style.

Finally, and this one is nothing more than a good omen, but three of the seven winners of the Mauritius Open have been from South Africa.
