Football Bet of the Day

After frustratingly falling a goal short at Aldershot on Friday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Premier League, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Crystal Palace vs AFC Bournemouth

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Premier League

⏰ Saturday 19 April, 15:00

Two clubs separated only by five points in the Premier League table meet at Selhurst Park tomorrow afternoon as 12th-placed Crystal Palace hosts eighth-placed Bournemouth in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.

Oliver Glasner’s hosts have scored 42 goals across their opening 32 Premier League contests this season, with 19 (45%) of them coming in front of their supporters.

The Eagles have found the back of the net in 19 of their previous 21 Premier League matches – including in each of their past 10 on home soil – and will look to get on the scoresheet once again against a Cherries backline that has recorded a solitary shutout on their travels this campaign, shipping multiple goals in 9/16 (56%) of them.

Andoni Iraola’s visitors have slammed in 52 goals across their opening 32 Premier League encounters this term, with an impressive 32 (62%) of them coming on their travels.

The Cherries have blanked in just two of their 16 Premier League clashes on the road this campaign – notching on multiple goals in 10 of their last 11 – and will look to continue their extraordinary goal-scoring record away from home against an Eagles backline that has shipped 10 goals in their last two matches and who have recorded a solitary shutout across their previous 11 league outings at Selhurst Park.

Bet of the Day

Crystal Palace’s previous 10 Premier League fixtures in front of their supporters have averaged 3.20 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in nine (90%) of them, whilst four of their last five and seven of their past nine at Selhurst Park have seen three or more goals.

Bournemouth’s opening 16 Premier League contests on their travels have averaged an eye-catching 3.63 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in a league-high 13 (81%) of them – including in 11 of their past 12 – whilst each of their last 11 and 13 of their previous 15 have produced three or more goals.

Therefore, I’m happy to back Both Teams to Score & Over 2.5 Goals in what promises to be an entertaining encounter in South London on Saturday afternoon.
