Two clubs in contrasting form in the Scottish Premiership meet at Fir Park on Saturday afternoon as in-form Motherwell entertain Dundee in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Stuart Kettlewell’s hosts have scored 11 goals across their opening seven Scottish Premiership matches, with five (45%) of them coming across their previous two home fixtures.
Following a goalless draw at home to Ross County on the opening day of the season, The Steelmen have made the net bulge in each of their next six league outings – notching on multiple occasions in four of their past five – and will be confident of breaching a Dundee defence that is still without a clean sheet in the league this season, shipping multiple goals in 6/7 of them.
Tony Docherty’s hosts have scored 12 goals across their opening seven matches in the Scottish Premiership this term, with four (33%) of them coming across their three road trips.
The Dark Blues have only failed to score at Dingwall against Ross County in the league this season – notching on multiple occasions in five (71%) of them – and will be confident of breaching a Well backline that is without a clean sheet in each of their previous six league outings.

Goals were a feature in this fixture last season, with their three meetings producing an eye-catching 13 goals – including a thrilling 3-3 draw in their only meeting at Fir Park.
Dundee’s opening 13 matches in league and cup this season have averaged a staggering 4.31 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in an impressive 11 (85%) of them, including in 6/7 (86%) of their Premiership encounters – and given the same has landed in each of Motherwell’s previous six Premiership contests – there’s a good chance we’ll see a high-scorer in North Lanarkshire on Saturday.
