Football Bet of the Day

Following on from Sunday’s half-stakes winner in Denmark, Monday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Italian Serie A, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

⚽️ Lazio vs Torino

🇮🇹 Serie A

⏰ Monday 31 March, 19:45

Lazio will look to leapfrog city-rivals Roma back into sixth position in the Serie A table as they welcome in-form Torino to the Olimpico tomorrow night in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.

Marco Baroni’s hosts are the joint third-highest scorers in Serie A, slamming in 50 goals across their opening 29 contests, with 28 (56%) of them coming on home soil.

Only leaders Inter have prevented Lazio from scoring at The Olimpico in the Italian top flight this term – with The Biancocelesti striking on multiple occasions in 9/14 (64%) of them – and will look to trouble a Torino defence that has yet to record a clean sheet in any of their eight trips to top-half sides, shipping 2+ goals in five (63%) of them.

Paulo Vanoli’s visitors have scored 34 goals across their opening 29 fixtures in the Italian top flight this term, with 21 (62%) of them coming on their travels.

Il Toro have found the back of the net in all bar three of their opening 15 Serie A contests on the road, notching on multiple occasions in eight (53%) of them – including in each of their last three and four of their past six – and will look to breach a Lazio backline that has registered just two clean sheets at home in Serie A this season, with neither of those arriving in any of their last seven encounters.

Bet of the Day

Lazio’s opening 29 fixtures in Serie A this season have averaged 3.14 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score clicking in 19 (66%) of them.

Those numbers rise when playing at their Olimpico base, with their opening 14 Serie A contests in front of their supporters averaging an eye-catching 3.43 goals per game, with 11 (79%) of them featuring goals at both ends.

Torino’s opening 15 Serie A contests on the road this campaign have averaged 2.87 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in nine (60%) of them, including in five of their last six.

What’s more, these two sides played out a five-goal thriller at the end of September, and I’m hoping we see a similarly entertaining encounter in the Italian capital tomorrow night.
