Looking to return to winning ways following the lack of goals in Bolivia on Tuesday, Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the English Championship, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.
⚽️ Norwich City vs West Bromwich Albion
🏴 Championship
⏰ Saturday 29 March, 15:00
West Brom will look to continue their push towards the playoffs in the Championship on Saturday afternoon as they travel to Carrow Road to take on mid-table Norwich in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Johannes Hoff Thorup’s hosts are the second-highest scorers in the Championship this season, slamming in 60 goals across their opening 38 matches, with an impressive 44 (73%) of them coming in front of their supporters.
The Canaries have failed to score in just two of their opening 19 Championship contests on home soil – notching on multiple occasions in 11 (58%) of them – and will look to breach a Baggies backline that’s recorded only three shutouts on their travels this season and none in their last 10.
Tony Mowbray’s visitors have scored 48 goals across their opening 38 Championship contests this campaign, with 23 (48%) of them coming on their travels.
The Baggies have found the back of the net in all bar three of their 19 Championship encounters on the road – scoring in nine of their past 10 – and will look to trouble a Norwich defence that has registered a solitary shutout in front of their supporters this season, shipping 27 goals.
Bet of the Day
Norwich’s opening 19 fixtures at home in the Championship this season have averaged a league-high 3.74 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in a league-best 16 (84%) of them, including 10 of their past 11.
West Brom’s 19 Championship tussles on their travels this campaign have averaged 2.37 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in a league-best 15 (79%) of them, including in nine of their last 10.
These two sides played out a 2-2 draw in the reverse fixture back in November, and I’m keen to back both to oblige in East Anglia on Saturday afternoon.
