After making it three winners from the previous four at Elgin on Tuesday night, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the French Ligue 1, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Relegation-threatened Nantes welcome European-chasing Brest to the Stade de la Beaujoire on Friday night in the Derby Breton in a fixture that appeals to me for goals at both ends.
Antoine Kombouare’s hosts have scored 24 goals across their opening 20 Ligue 1 encounters this campaign, with 11 (46%) of them coming across their nine home fixtures.
The Canaries have found the back of the net in 17 of their past 19 Ligue 1 contests – including in each of their previous eight – and will look to breach a Brest backline that’s shipped 21 goals across their opening 10 road trips in Ligue 1 this season, with their solitary shutout coming at rock-bottom Le Havre.
Eric Roy’s visitors have scored 31 goals across their opening 20 Ligue 1 outings this term, with 10 (32%) of them coming on their travels.
The Pirates have made the net bulge in 16 (80%) of their Ligue 1 dates – notching on multiple occasions in six of their previous nine – and will look to trouble a Nantes defence that has recorded a solitary shutout across their last 16 Ligue 1 contests.

After seeing just two goals across their opening two Ligue 1 fixtures this season, Nantes' next 18 have averaged 2.89 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score banking in an impressive 15 (83%) of them.
Brest’s opening 20 Ligue 1 contests this season have averaged an eye-catching 3.35 goals per game, with Both Teams to Score paying out in 12 (60%) of them, including in 10 of the previous 13.
What’s more, these two have already faced each other in Ligue 1 and the Coupe de France in the past couple of months – with Both Teams to Score landing on each occasion – and I’m happy to back both of these Breton rivals to find the target at an atmospheric Stade de la Beaujoire on Friday night.
