If there's anything worse than an international break it's the days after when there's hardly any football at all.
But here we are, a couple of days hiatus before we get down to the business end of the domestic season. That means we go north of the border for tonight's pick.
In League One in Scotland, Dumbarton have been knocked off the top of the table by Stirling Albion but held the leaders to a draw at the weekend and can reclaim top stop with a win over Forfar tonight.
The Sons had faltered big-time prior to the clash with Stirling. They were thumped at home 5-1 by Albion Rovers so the 2-2 draw with The Binos will have restored a bit of pride and confidence.
With just eight games left to play Stephen Farrell's side can't afford to slip any further behind. Forfar are a stuffy team who are hard to beat but have won just one in seven. They're not out of the promotion picture just yet but with the prize of returning to the summit Dumbarton look the best bet at even money.
Despite back-to-back defeats the bookies have Sheffield Wednesday as short favourites to win at Cheltenham this evening. Defeat to Forest Green, who are bottom of the table, was a major shock – all the more reason fans should expect a big response tonight.
But 8/11 feels a bit skinny after those two defeats, especially with Cheltenham unbeaten in four, winning three of those.

Disgusting behaviour by Bet365 and Opta. Looks like they have colluded to ensure that Bet365 special didn’t pay out. John McGinn clearly went for goal and the keeper saved onto the bar ie a shot on target. Is there anyway to appeal an opta stat Bet365 hiding behind this?
@hudson. In a nutshell, no there is not a way of appealing Opta’s stats and, with all respect, I doubt Bet365 would collude with Opta to ensure a special did not pay out! Unfortunately their t&cs state that they take all their data for bet settlement purposes from Opta.
That said (and I haven’t seen the game), the definition of a shot on target for opta is
“a clear attempt to score that would have gone into the net but for being saved by the goalkeeper or is stopped by a player who is the last-man with the goalkeeper having no chance of preventing the goal”. So, if you feel that the event meets that description it might be worth asking someone to watch back the tapes of that segment of the game and ask them if they are prepared to pay out based on that (almost certainly if they do it will be a gesture of goodwill payment)
You will further enhance your case if you can find some independent stat or text commentary online (eg BBC sport) that describes or records the shot as one on target.
I appreciate that it’s probably not the answer you want but good luck if you go down the goodwill route.

I contacted bet365 in a similar vein…I didnt think the one that hit the bar was a shot on target but maybe didn’t look at that one close enough….however 36 mins and 30 seconds into the game, in my opinion John McGinn whips in a corner (it was the one that all the players were standing around the keeper) and the keeper has to punch it away on his line to stop it being a goal. You can score direct from a corner and if keeper doesn’t punch it away then its a goal, so in my humble opinion, should have counted as shot on target…contacted bet365 requesting review and they deferred to opta stats. Very frustrating…
