It's all about the Africa Cup of Nations today and we have three David v Goliath games on Christmas Eve, starting with Algeria's clash against Sudan.

The Algerians don't have many big names in their squad but they're two-time winners of the tournament and are in good form.

Sudan are one of the minnows at AFCON so it would be a surprise if they upset the North African side in their Group E opener.

Algeria vs Sudan top betting tips

Algeria are heavy favourites at a best 21/50 with Bet365 and it's hard to see them slipping up against limited opposition.

The Sudanese have failed to score in eight of their last 10 games while Algeria have shut out the opposition in three of their last five. That points to a win to nil for the favourites and it pays evens at Bet365.

The minnows will probably set up to frustrate so there could also be some value in backing most goals to come after the break at 6/5 with 888Sport.

Ivory Coast vs Mozambique

Ivory Coast kick off their AFCON title defence with what should be a straightforward game against Mozambique in Group F.

This could be one of the more competitive sections at the finals, with Cameroon likely to slug it out with the Ivorians for top spot.

The holders will want to bank three points before they face the Indomitable Lions in the second game and Ivory Coast are just 3/8 at Betway for the win.

Mozambique have never gone beyond the group stage at the Africa Cup of Nations so it's no surprise to see them as 9/1 outsiders.

The minnows shipped five goals to Algeria in World Cup qualifying and also conceded four times against Uganda. That suggests Ivory Coast should get a bit of joy and backing them to be winning at half-time and full-time pays evens at Bet365.

Manchester United's Amad Diallo will be a key creative outlet for the favourites and he's a tempting 19/5 at William Hill for an assist.

Cameroon vs Gabon

Cameroon are five-time winners of the Africa Cup of Nations but their preparation for this tournament has been far from ideal, with boss Marc Brys axed after a fallout with federation president Samuel Eto'o.

Taking on a dangerous Gabon side is a potential banana skin in a tough group that also includes defending champions Ivory Coast.

The good news for new gaffer David Pagou is that he has a squad packed with talent, including Manchester United star Bryan Mbeumo.

Gabon could be a tough nut to crack though after just missing out on a place at the World Cup in the play-offs.

Cameroon also fell at the final hurdle in World Cup qualifying so this should be a tight game and the half-time draw appeals at evens with SkyBet.

The Lions will rely on Mbuemo for inspiration and he's a tempting 13/5 at Coral to have over 1.5 shots on target. He's also 6/5 with Bet365 to score or assist.

Super singles

  • Algeria win to nil Evens Bet365
  • Amad Diallo assist 19/5 William Hill
  • Byran Mbuemo over 1.5 shots on target 13/5 Coral

    Africa Cup of Nations

BTTS has came up in 5 of the 7 games played so far, all at odds against, including 12/1 Zimbabwe managing to nick one against Egypt so going to try today’s 4 games as doubles/trebles/fourfold for a bit of Christmas Eve interest.

GL and Happy Christmas when it comes.

When did Slybet change booking points to cards?? Not bet wi them for bookings this season but they’ve went down the route of cards being 2 yellows and red are only 2 cards. Booking points would’ve been settled by now. Slybet for a reason, 365 all the way
