Things have moved quickly for Ange Postecoglou. On Saturday he was being serenaded by the Celtic fans after delivering them a Treble at Hampden, by Monday night it was a case of “Ange who?” as the Hoops fans started to consider his replacement following confirmation the Aussie had agreed to become the new Spurs boss.

Postecoglou’s first task will be to return Tottenham to the Champions League and they’re seventh in the betting for a top four finish next season at 3/1.

They’re 40/1 shots to win the Premier League, which would make Postecoglou’s debut season one of the most remarkable English football has ever seen.

He may need to deliver success without England captain Harry Kane who is reportedly top of Real Madrid’s list to replace legendary Karim Benzema.

Unibet go 7/4 that Kane will end up at the Bernabeu while Skybet are best price at 13/8 to remain at Spurs. Manchester United are the shortest other Premier League side at 5/2.

For Celtic the search for a new leader begins.

Former Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers leads the market at 7/4 but a large section of Celtic fans have not forgiven him for bailing mid-season with the league still to be won in 2019 and there’s conflicting reports that he’s ruled himself out of the post.

West Ham gaffer Davie Moyes, who started his playing career at Celtic, is next in line at a biggest price 6/1.

Then comes highly-regarded assistant to Postecoglou, John Kennedy at 9s, the same price as Enzo Maresca.

Kjetil Knudsen could be lively contender at 10/1, backed in from an earlier 14s. Celtic dipped in to Eliteserien in 2014 when they plucked Ronny Deila from Stromsgodset and the current Bodo/Glimt manager has been attracting admirers across Europe for a number of seasons now.

Former Premier League managers, Jesse Marsch (10/1) and Graham Potter (11/1) are quoted, as are likes of club legends Scott Brown (20/1) and Martin O’Neill (25/1).

It’s bound to be an interesting few days and weeks in Glasgow. Who do you think will take up the hotseat at Celtic Park?

Kjetil Knudsen has to be considered his side were excellent to watch and play a brilliant brand of high press prsssure attacking football.
In the meantime in doing so they made millions when they sold some of there top performers after going deep in Europe after taking a few scalps recently has
definitely got to be considered though I read Ajax are interested in him also.

Ange I believe and have witnessed will do well he wouldn’t have went without assurances he is not daft and will be fully backed and brings in his own players to play his high energy game.

    7/4
I’d expect ulsan to get back to winning ways after being beaten 2-0 by jeonbuk last match.
Home side conceded 7 goals in last 2 games.

Any reasoning here Macca? Both teams and league look a bit stingy for goals to me..?

    • maccathered 1 year ago

There’s a good history between these two teams when they play each other for goals, the home team are big underdogs here but it wouldn’t surprise me if they were to score a couple. Over 2.5 goals is my main bet the rest are my side bets.

“Tottenham interested in signing Harry Maguire from Manchester United. England defender’s potential switch to Spurs could help London club keep hold of Kane.”

As if Spurs fans haven’t suffered enough 🤣🤣🤣

It will be City v Liverpool next season mark my words, Mac Allistar turned United down flat to join us and we don’t have champions league football lol, United have to pay over the odds to lure players, as Klopp says if you only want to join for Champions league football then find another team..

I’m not saying he’s the beast defender in the world but he’s certainly better than anything Tottenham have got ,

MacGuire is a decent defender he showed that in the WC.One of Englands best players.

      1
    • hammy730 1 year ago

He is certainly not better than anything spurs have, would rather keep dier! And not overly keen on that idea tbh, romero is a better defender than maguire 100%. I do agree he is lacking confidence though

  8. georgie41 1 year ago

I’ve seen a lot poor defenders in my time and maguire and Luke shaw are up there with the worst and are two of the most overrated defenders I’ve seen

City will run away with it again next year. They look better than ever, will strengthen again in the summer and have a crop of great youngsters coming through. Liverpool need a major overhaul, and is the money there to do that?

    1
    • maccathered 1 year ago

Liverpool don’t need a major overhaul they only need a couple of midfielders and a new defender, City won’t run away with it , Klopp will have his team ready.

    • hombre3000 1 year ago

Liverpool will be no where near city and will struggle to make top 4! Still an ageing squad and Mcallister won’t help!

      2
    • maccathered 1 year ago

hombre3000, Mac Allistar won’t help, I hope he does help i mean he played in a world cup final and had a blinding tournament so his experience can’t do any harm, plenty of Premier league experience also so that’s a plus. Klopp v Pep next season the rest fighting it out for 3rd and 4th.

City wont run away with anything. Like Celtic they have had a few bad performances in the last few weeks. They did not put Utd away on Sat in that final like they should have.Inter wont be a cake walk either on Sat.

79 years ago today British,American and Canadian forces landed in Normandy to start pushing back the Nazis and end one of the worlds most horrible conflicts. RIP to all who lost their life. No winners in war. Thought if we can mention when a sporting figure dies then it was OK to mention this. Love to you all !
