There's only handful of games left of the 2021-22 season but it won't be too long until football is back and with the World Cup taking place in November and December it means an early start for leagues across Europe this summer.
The Scottish League Cup is among the first to return, kicking off in just 48 days time. The week before that there's European qualifiers with the road to the Champions League and Europa Conference League starting in earnest.
The key date on the Scottish domestic scene is July 30th when all four SPFL leagues begin, as does the English Football League. A week later the Premier League swings in to action, joined by Ligue 1 and the German Bundesliga the same weekend.
But before all that there's a whole host of UEFA Nations League matches at the beginning of June, almost two week's worth in fact so that should keep us busy for a couple of weeks. And who could forget the crucial World Cup play-offs that still need to be settled? Scotland are due to play Ukraine on June 1st with the winner traveling to Wales for the play-off final on June 5th.

There's also plenty of action across the globe during the close season with the likes of Ireland, Norway and Sweden playing through the summer as well the MLS and A League in Australia.
As for today's action there's not much to get involved with unless you've a view on the National League play-offs where Halifax Town host Chesterfield, live on BT Sport or there's a Bundesliga II relegation play-off live on Sky Sports between Dynamo Dresden and Kaiserslautern.
We do have a good one to look forward to on Wednesday when Roma and Feyenoord compete for the inaugural Europe Conference League final in Tirana, Albania. Mark Walker has already posted his views on that one.

Elvis, what’s your thought on libertadores game later between Velez Sarsfield and Estudiantes. Ridiculous odds for the away side, or BTTS. Reverse was Estudiantes 4-1.
On the face of it looks huge.
Estudiantes already through and I think Velez need to better bragantinos result against national Uruguay, a team that bragantino should beat but are away.
Question to ask is would estudiantes rather see Velez, a team they have already beat 4-1 qualify or a potentially better bragantino side.
