Tuesday's racing looks fairly average and even though there's a good amount of racing on, not much really catches the eye. I've gone for two favourites who are short in the market, but they are there for obvious reasons.

Southwell 1:30

Runner Jacket Trainer: Dan Skelton

Jockey: Mr Tristan Durrell (3)

Form: /P3P-1

DEBECE is short in the market for this race, but that's for obvious reasons as he should be the one they all have to beat. At the age off 11 this lad showed that he is capable as jumper and very capable in the Hunters' Chase sphere which is races rode by amateur jockeys. He was a fairly smart horse when trained by Tim Vaughan, hitting the 141 mark and winning five times for the Welsh based man. Since moving to Dan's it's been a mixture of results with two PU in his form with some good effort either side. The form of his debut run has turned out nicely with the winner boosting the form on a number of occasions last season. The same can be said about the winner of his run in February who went on to win nicely at the Ayr Scottish Grand National meeting, which was over a trip probably too short for him these days (2m 4f).

His first run in this kind of race came in a match against Give Me A Copper last time at Warwick but he won with so much in hand and it was a routine piece of training work for him. Considering the horse he beat was running well this season in Hunters' Chase races, it was a very impressive win.

There's a few noticeable names in this race, but none appeal to me at all. Stratagem will have his followers due to Nicholls being the trainer and David Maxwell being the owner/rider. David does very well in these races, but I don't think his horse will stay this trip. I watched this horse run last time out and he was caught late on in the race at Warwick over 2m 4f, and it looked like he might want to come back in trip than go up. Glen Forsa will also have his supporters but I'm convinced this trip is too far for him and he is better over an intermediate kind of trip like 2m 4f – 6f.

Southwell 2:32

Runner Jacket Trainer: Micky Hammond

Jockey: Miss Becky Smith (3)

Form: 0P55-1

Another shorty, but one who should take the world of beating unless one of the horses who are unexposed over the trip improve a fair few pounds in the handicap. BALKOTIC showed improvement last time out over 3m 3f to win nicely for Becky Smith & Micky Hammond under different front running tactics. Based on the other horses in the race, I'd be surprised if they deployed different tactics as there seems to be no other pace rivals in the race, so an uncontested lead looks on the cards (every time I say this, it never goes to plan which is baffling).

This doesn't look a strong race at all so the heavy weight this horse carries shouldn't be an issue and it's effectively only a 4lb rise in the handicap which looks more than manageable. I don't think the drop in trip to 3m will be an inconvenience as he was quite keen for the majority of the race over longer so should be more at home at this trip. The fact he does have stamina over longer isn't a bad thing as if it comes to a battle then he will be staying on strongly. The other horses in the race can also be keen so the step up to 3m for the first time for them doesn't look suited. On pedigree and their running style Magellan and Robeam should struggle at this trip and Money Spinner is a weird horse to weigh up. He has ran well on soft ground over 3m but has looked unsuited by a faster going the last two times. Landacre Bridge was convincingly beaten by Balkotic last time and the pull the weights shouldn't be enough to bridge the gap. Simply Mani has to defy a 654 day absence and is still a maiden over obstacles so it will be a big effort to win this.

🇫🇷 Posted this last night after it was pointed out.

Saint Cloud …3.10. Good race and I’ve the favourite and Coeur Macen the 10/1 outsider on my tracker.
I think with Barzalona on board the fav he looks good as he’s already beaten a few of these, they have scope to improve but Burgarita probably still can himself.
I think Barzalona will probably do what he does 90% of the time and hit the front and hold on?
Took him 9/4 last night but 7/4 still available

      Burgarita…3.10 9/4
€ and change on Coeur Macen 9/1 and small R/fc just in case
      Swing For Me …2.00. 13/8

Well done to Alex, Dazzman, Elvis and any Kieran Shoemark followers yesterday. 💰

I managed to find just one winner and was needing Army of One in the lucky last to save my day but only managed 2nd 🧛‍♂️

***NAP*** Willian Haggas is of fire just now with a 40% strike rate. He has a couple of short ones at Newcastle in Post Impressionist 6:00 & Substantial 7:00 (DOUBLE) 9/4.

**NB** Willie Mullins has two at the top of the market that will pay well in another double. 2:55 Punchestown – Stilyker & 8:20 Gowran Park – Beret Rouge (DOUBLE) 6/1.

My *each way punt* … Oh Im going for one out of the ball park here . 2:02 Southwell – Lorraine’s Girl @ 66/1 😛

Hope your Tuesday goes well 💗🤗😘 especially if your name is Willian Haggas or Willie Mullins 😉
