The congested calendar continues with the return of domestic football this weekend and I'm heading to Serie A on Saturday afternoon.
Crotone vs Lazio (Saturday, 14:oo)
Serie A newcomers Crotone will be looking to pick up their first win of the season when they lock horns with Lazio on Saturday afternoon.
Giovanni Stroppa's side are stranded at the bottom of the table after losing five of their opening seven assignments of the season.
Indeed, Crotone stopped the rot last time out during a scrappy stalemate away at Torino, however, they will be hard tasked when trying to topple a Lazio team who are in the midst of a six-match unbeaten run.
Simone Inzaghi's side suffered a bit of a stuttering start to the current campaign but they have shown some notable signs of improvement in recent weeks and I fancy them to continue their upward progression at the Stadio Ezio Scida on Saturday.
A Lazio win looks slightly skinny at a general 4/6 so I'm going to head to the Bet 365 Bet Builder with the view to getting the capital club onside.
The combination that I'm going to pull together to give us a backable 4/5 shot is Lazio to win and Crotone to collect over zero cards.
The Biancocelesti look set to be boosted with the return of talismanic striker Ciro Immobile on Saturday and that does not bode well for a Crotone's creaky backline.
Stroppa's strugglers have shipped 17 goals across seven league outings thus far – conceding an average of 2.4 goals per game – and I suspect confidence-stricken Crotone could crumble against the Romans weekend.
What's more, the Pitagorici are averaging 2.4 cards per game this term so I'll happily add at least one Crotone card to the recommended Bet Builder when they play host to improving Lazio.
It's also worth noting that the above-mentioned combination has clicked in each of Lazio's three league wins this season as well as all five of Crotone's defeats so far, and that only adds to the appeal of siding with a repeat on Saturday.
