SlipsTips returns to share a selection from the Scottish Championship on Saturday, with Dunfermline's encounter with Queen's Park taking centre-stage.

Dunfermline vs Queen's Park (Saturday, 15:00)

Dunfermline Athletic will be bidding to record back-to-back wins in the Scottish Championship for just the second time this season when they play host to Queen’s Park on Saturday.

James McPake’s men put the brakes on their four-game winless run with a comprehensive 3-0 win against Arbroath on Tuesday night, a triumph that propelled the Pars into the top four in the process.

As for Queen’s Park, their bright start to the season must feel like a distant memory, with the eighth-placed Spiders without a league win since way back in August.

That wretched run can be attributed to their inability to keep clean sheets, so much so that I’m prepared to back Dunfermline to deliver Over 1.5 Team Goals on Saturday at an eye-catching even-money (PaddyPower).

While the Pars haven't been amongst the most prolific sides in the Scottish Championship this season, they have netted in nine of their opening 13 league games of the season, including each of their last four league assignments.

What’s more, James McPake’s men have made the bugle at least twice in their recent matches with both Morton and Arbroath respectively, and they are certainly capable of repeating the trick against another second tier struggler in the shape of Queen’s Park.

As already alluded to, the Spiders have been in desperately poor form of late, with Robin Veldman’s side currently in the midst of a torrid ten-game winless streak.

Across that sample of fixtures, the out-of-sorts visitors have conceded multiple goals on no fewer than eight occasions, one of which was when hosting Dunfermline at Hampden back in September.

It’s also worth noting that the Spiders were soundly beaten 3-0 by Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup last Saturday, so morale must be pretty low in the Queen's Park camp ahead of this weekend’s trip to Fife.

Dunfermline, on the other hand, should be buoyed by their 3-0 win in midweek and they certainly represent a spot of value at evens (PaddyPower) to expose the defensive weaknesses of their Glasgow guests.
