The Argentine has a reputation for his hot-headed approach and is often on the referee’s radar, with his tendency to overstep the mark regularly getting him penalised. Indeed, Romero has made four La Liga appearances for Atleti this season and has committed a foul in three of them, as well as picking up a yellow card against Real Madrid.
Usually deployed on the right-hand side of Atleti’s back line, Romero could be drawn into a potentially fiery battle with fellow South American Matheus Cunha.
The United forward has been featuring in a more central role of late, which should bring him up against Romero. Moreover, Cunha has drawn nine fouls in six Premier League appearances this season and was fouled twice against Sabah FK on matchday one, making Romero a prime candidate to commit a foul here.
Diogo Dalot To Commit 1+ Foul
I’m going to complete the double by including Diogo Dalot to commit at least one foul.
Like Romero, the Manchester United right-back plays with plenty of intensity and aggression.
Dalot has committed seven fouls across his last three Premier League appearances, including one against Tottenham on Saturday, when he came off the bench and also picked up a yellow card.
Expected to return to the starting XI on Tuesday night, the Red Devils defender could have his hands full against Atletico Madrid forward Ademola Lookman.
Lookman has been fouled five times across the three home matches he has started in La Liga this season, strengthening the case for Dalot to commit a minimum of one foul during this contest.
