KevMac gives us his thoughts on the top flight matches in Scotland this weekend.

Celtic v Kilmarnock

NEIL LENNON will be praying Celtic’s Euro win over Lille will be the launchpad for their bid to salvage the quest for 10 in a row.

The Hoops had their drive and energy back in that 3-2 Europa League win and now turn their attention to eating into Rangers’ huge lead in the Premiership.

Celts could head into tomorrow’s home clash with Kilmarnock 16 points behind Steven Gerrard’s men if Gers win in the early kick-off at Tannadice.

And Hibs also have the chance to jump above Lennon’s side into second place today if they beat Hamilton on the road.

It’s now or never for Celtic and I fancy some goals at Parkhead.

Even during their dismal recent run the Hoops have still been scoring, netting in every game apart from the League Cup exit against Ross County.

I cashed in by backing over 1.5 first-half goals against Lille in midweek and the same bet pays 5/4 at McBookie here.

Celtic haven’t enjoyed their trips to Rugby Park’s plastic pitch but it has been a different story at Parkhead, with four wins on the trot.

The champions scored three or more goals in three of those games and could get some more joy here. Over 2.5 Celtic goals is priced 5/4 by McBookie while over 3.5 match goals is 13/10 with the same firm.

Lennon’s side have conceded in their last eight games while Killie have scored on their last two visits to Parkhead so both teams to score appeals (Evens, 888Sport).

Dundee Utd v Rangers

Rangers also won in Europe on Thursday night to keep up their incredible unbeaten run this season. I fancied them to beat Lech

Poznan without conceding and they duly kept their 20th clean sheet this term.

It’s hard to see Dundee United breaching that defence as the Tannadice side have scored twice in their last four games and drawn a blank 10 times this term.

Rangers cruised to a 4-0 win when these sides met at Ibrox and another win to nil pays 8/11 with Paddy Power. United could try to park the bus so there may not be many goals at the other end. Under 2.5 match goals pays 6/4 with McBookie.

Hamilton v Hibernian

In today’s Premiership action I fancy Hibs to see off Hamilton (8/13, McBookie) and move up to second for a day at least.

Accies beat Kilmarnock last weekend but they were helped by a red card for Clevid Dikamona and backing the Hibees to be winning at half-time and full-time increases the odds to 14/9 at SBK.

Christian Doidge be the difference for Hibs and is evens with McBookie to score.

Aberdeen v Ross County

Aberdeen should be too strong for Ross County at Pittodrie and I fancy a Dons win to nil at 11/8 with McBookie.

Motherwell v St Mirren

St Mirren dropped to the bottom after a draw with Derek McInnes’ men last season but are actually in decent form, unbeaten in six games.

It could be a tight game when they travel to Motherwell so under 2.5 goals looks the shout here at 4/6 with McBookie.

St Johnstone v Livingston

It should also be tight when Livingston take on St Johnstone in Perth and the same bet pays 8/15, with a double boosting the odds to 156/100.

Super Singles

  • Over 2.5 Celtic goals (5/4, McBookie)
  • Under 2.5 goals in Dundee United v Rangers (6/4 McBookie)

Shot-shy Double

  • Motherwell v St Mirren & St Johnstone v Livingston both under 2.5 goals (156/100, McBookie)
