The La Liga fixture list at the start of the season is quite interesting, with quite a few matches taking place during the week, leaving us with just three for Saturday.
Levante host the unbeaten Real Betis as they seek their first win of the season, just as Real Sociedad will be looking for their first points against Espanyol. In the late kick-off, we’ll be treated to a real spectacle between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid.

Levante vs. Real Betis (4pm)
Real Betis may not be particularly impressive in attack, but their strong defence means that the few goals they do score are more than enough to secure the three points.
So far, they have won both their matches 1–0, and they now travel to face Levante, who have yet to score a single goal. To be honest, matches between Betis and Levante are usually high-scoring affairs. Nine of the last ten between them have featured at least three goals.
Given their current form, it’s hard to expect a high-scoring result, but it’s entirely possible. In any case, I reckon Real Betis will head home with the three points – and why not top spot in the table as well?

Real Sociedad vs. Espanyol (6:00pm)
Real Sociedad’s poor form from the end of last season has clearly carried over into the new one, as they are still without a win after two matches. Espanyol, meanwhile, have shown they won’t have any trouble against the weaker sides, but they’re not quite up to the standard of the title favourites yet.
This will be Real Sociedad’s first home game of the season, and I expect a lot more from them. Espanyol, on the other hand, will be playing away for the first time this season.
This is certainly a tough match that could go either way, but in my view we can expect goals. In fact, Real Sociedad have seven wins in their last 10 head-to-head matches, but last season we saw two draws – 1–1 and 2–2.

Sevilla vs. Atletico Madrid (8:30pm)
Sevilla haven’t looked this good for years, but it remains to be seen how long they can maintain this form and whether they are strong enough to cope with the usual contenders in the top four.
Atletico Madrid may regret not having six points after their match against Villarreal, but that’s now in the past. The bigger question is how they’ll perform away from home, having won just three of their last eight away fixtures.
In my view, Sevilla could spring the surprise of the round, but I wouldn’t dare take that risk just yet. I’d rather focus on the goals markets, as I expect both teams to score in any case.
