Their attacking options are weaker for this match. Ismaila Sarr will miss out with a groin injury, removing pace and a direct threat from Pierre Sage’s side. Jean-Philippe Mateta remains available, but Palace have lost Maxence Lacroix during the transfer window and Chadi Riad is seeking specialist advice after suffering an injury at Everton.
Axel Disasi has arrived on loan and trained with the squad, although Sage admitted he had not worked in collective conditions during pre-season. His readiness remains uncertain ahead of a possible debut.
City won nine of their 19 away matches last season and collected 33 points, while Palace scored only 19 home goals. City’s stronger opening performance, Palace’s absences and the hosts’ high draw rate make Manchester City draw no bet the preferred selection.
