Turkey vs WalesEuro 2020, KO: 17:00 Jun 16, 2021, Olympic Stadium
WALES did well to dig out a point in their Group A opener and head into this clash with Turkey knowing a win would seal their place in the last 16 of Euro 2020.
I fancied Switzerland to beat Robert Page's men on matchday one but VAR ruined two of my bets by ruling out what looked like a late winner from Mario Gavranovic.
Many people thought the Turks would impress at these finals, myself included, but boss Senol Gunes tried to park the bus at the Stadio Olimpico and ended up reversing into a lamp post instead.
A victory against Wales would spark their campaign back to life though and this clash in Baku will feel like a home game with thousands of Turks expected to be in the crowd.
So you suspect the Welsh will need a big improvement from their unconvincing display against Switzerland, with more needed from star men Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey.
How the bookies view it
Head to head
Armchair fans will be hoping for a repeat of the last clash between these nations, with Turkey winning 6-4 in a World Cup 98 qualifier as Hakan Sukur hit four goals (below).
But that's one of just two defeats for Wales in their six meetings, with the Dragons winning three of those matches.
Players to watch
Hakan Calhanoglu was one of the few bright sparks for Turkey in Rome and the AC Milan playmaker could cause Wales some problems. He's 9/2 with Paddy Power for anytime scorer but looks better value for an assist at 4/1 with McBookie.
Cardiff striker Moore caused the Swiss a headache with his aerial prowess and should be the biggest Welsh threat again. He's 17/5 with Unibet for a goal and could get some joy if the likes of Bale (below) can provide him with the service.
Anything else catch the eye?
The draw suits neither side as Turkey need to bounce back with a win while Wales will want to avoid going into their last game with Italy needing a result to qualify.
Welsh striker Moore earned a booking against the Swiss for leading with his elbow and could get involved in more battles with the likes of Caglar Soyuncu and Merih Demiral. He's 4/1 with BetVictor for a card and that looks overpriced.
McBookie have a special on Turkey scoring a winning over 4.5 corners, which looks pretty decent value at 7/5.
