Tottenham vs Arsenal

, KO: 16:30 Dec 6, 2020, Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

TOTTENHAM are setting the early pace in the Premier League table and they will be hoping to maintain their place at the summit when arch-rivals Arsenal come calling on Sunday.

Spurs solidified their title claims with a 2-0 victory over Man City before playing out a scrappy stalemate with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last Sunday, two trademark performances from a Jose Mourinho managed team.

Consequently, Tottenham held on to their place at the top of the table and they will be looking to consolidate their position by adding to Arsenal's woes this weekend.

Mikel Arteta appeared to have brought a real sense of optimism back to the Emirates, but the feelgood factor has swiftly evaporated following a wretched run of just one league win in six.

The Gunners aren't firing at all and they head into this north London derby occupying 14th place in the table after 10 rounds of fixtures.

Last time out in the Premier League Arsenal crashed to a 2-1 defeat at home to Wolves and Arteta will be hoping he can inspire a response from his troops at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.

Outright Betting

Jose Mourinho has never lost a league game when playing host to Arsenal and a Spurs success on Sunday pays even-money with Bet 365.

Arsenal are winless in six of their last seven trips to Tottenham and that is reflected in the odds with an away win priced up at 14/5 with BetVictor, while the draw is an unfancied 13/5 with UniBet.

Betting Angles

One of my two recommended Bet Builders landed during Spurs' snoozefest with Chelsea and I like the look of siding with a similar betting angle at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The 20/23 (Bet 365) combination that I like the look of when making use of the Bet 365 Bet Builder feature is under five match goals, over zero Tottenham goals and each team to collect at least one card.

Spurs' last three league games have featured fewer than three goals and Mourinho's men have recorded a clean sheet in each of those three fixtures.

What's more, the under 2.5 goal play has landed in each of Arsenal's last three top-flight road trips and I suspect another low-scoring affair could be in-store on Sunday.

History shows that these two old foes have thrown up some fiery fixtures over the past few years and with in mind, I'm happy to back both teams to pick up at least one card in what should be a closely-fought battle.

It's also worth noting that the above-mentioned Bet Builder banked in both derbies last season and I see no reason to oppose a repeat this weekend.

I'll also dip into the anytime goalscorer market and take the 23/20 on offer with BetVictor for red-hot Harry Kane to make the net bulge against a ropey Arsenal rearguard who have recorded just two clean sheets across their last nine top-flight tussles.

Kane has notched in nine of his 13 appearances against Arsenal to date and the Spurs striker will smell blood when faced with the confidence-stricken Gunners on Sunday.

This match between Tottenham and Arsenal will be played on Dec 6, 2020 and kick off at 16:30. Check below for our tipsters best Tottenham vs Arsenal prediction. You may also visit our dedicated betting previews section for the most up to date previews.
