Torino vs Juventus

, KO: 17:00 Oct 2, 2021, Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino
Juventus

It is the Turin derby this weekend as Torino host Juventus in a Serie A fixture at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino. Juve have been on the rise in recent weeks and with Torino still slightly unconvincing and depleted at the moment, the visitors are backed to continue their resurgence.

Torino were held to a 1-1 draw at Venezia in their previous Serie A fixture. They took the lead through Josip Brekalo but were pegged back by the hosts and were able to hold on for the point despite finishing the match with 10 men.

It has been a much better start for Torino this season, although they have claimed just two wins from their opening six matches. They still struggle against some of the big teams and have already been beaten 2-1 by both Atalanta and Fiorentina this season.

Torino have struggled on their own turf with just one win from their last five home matches. They will have to play Saturday’s derby without a number of key players with Andrea Belotti, Marko Pjaka and Simone Zaza all sidelined with injury.

After a slow start to the season, Juventus finally appear to be slowly finding their form under manager Massimiliano Allegri. They travel to Torino off the back of a 1-0 Champions League victory over holders Chelsea with Federico Chiesa getting the goal.

The result means Juventus are now unbeaten in their last five matches across all competitions. They have claimed four wins in that run, including a 3-2 victory over Sampdoria in their previous Serie A fixture.

Despite winning their last two away matches, Juventus remain vulnerable at the back and have kept no clean sheets in their six Serie A matches this season.

How the bookies view it

The bookies have installed Juventus as overwhelming favourites at 22/23 with SBK. A victory for Torino is priced at 17/5 by betfair while novibet is offering odds of 51/20 for a draw.

Head to head

Juventus have a 25-3 advantage with eight draws from 36 previous matches against Torino. They were unbeaten in this fixture last season, claiming a 2-1 victory at home before holding out for a 2-2 draw at the Stadio Olimpico Grande Torino.

Players to watch

Given the injuries to key players in Torino’s attack, Antonio Sanabria will be the one to watch on Saturday. The Paraguayan striker has just one goal this season but scored a brace in this fixture last term and could be worth keeping an eye on to score anytime at 11/4 with Betfred.

Strikers Paulo Dybala and Alvaro Morata are still sidelined with injury so Federico Chiesa could be the one to watch for Juventus. The winger was on target in this fixture last season and is priced at 2/1 by SBK to find the net.

Anything else catch the eye?

Juventus have failed to keep a single clean sheet in Serie A this season and with Torino also struggling defensively, both teams are likely to score at 5/6 with MansionBet. There were over 3.5 goals in the last meeting between both teams and a repeat could be on the cards at 44/19 with Vbet.

Juventus have scored in both halves in their last two Serie A matches and that run can be backed to continue at 2/1 with bet365.
