Ross County vs Celtic

, KO: 15:00 Aug 6, 2022, Global Energy Stadium
Celtic

CELTIC will be looking to make it two wins from two in the Scottish Premiership with a victory at Victoria Park on Saturday afternoon against Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou's side started their title defence with a comfortable 2-0 win over Aberdeen last Sunday, on an afternoon where I delivered a Celtic Park clean sweep.

That opening day success means the Hoops have extended their exceptional unbeaten run in the top-flight to 33 matches, a sequence that stretches all the way back to last September.

Celtic will now look to further strengthen the feel-good factor within the Parkhead camp when they head to the Highlands to face Ross County this weekend.

It was a tough opening weekend test for Malky Mackay's men who were on the wrong end of a 2-1 reverse against Hearts at Tynecastle last Saturday.

However, there were some very encouraging signs in terms of the Staggies attacking intent in the capital and they will consider themselves unlucky not to have got anything out of the game.

Outright Betting

Ross County are unsurprisingly big underdogs at 10/1 (Betfred) while the draw is also deemed unlikely at 5/1 (Betfred) with the same bookmaker.

Celtic won all four league meetings between the pair last season and a repeat here is heavily fancied at a lowly 3/10 (Bet 365).

Betting Angles

Celtic are too skinny to side with at the above-mentioned price so to nudge up the odds I'll jump into the Bet Builder feature and throw together over one Celtic goal, under two Ross County goals and over five Celtic corners at 10/11 (Bet 365).

Ange Postecoglou's attack-minded outfit were the top scorers in the Scottish top-flight last season, banging in 92 goals across their 38 league games, an eye-catching average of 2.42 per game.

What's more, the Bhoys hit the back of the net at least twice in a sizeable 26 of those assignments, which doesn't bode well for a Ross County rearguard that recorded just eight clean sheets in the Scottish Premiership last season.

As such, I'll happily back Celtic to strike twice in Dingwall on Saturday, but to get a bit more juice out of the price, I'll also throw under two Ross County goals into the equation.

The reigning Scottish champions boasted the best defensive record in the league last season, leaking just 22 goals across the entire campaign, conceding multiple goals on only four occasions.

With the high-octane Hoops expected to dominate the game, coupled with the fact that they have hit six or more corners 31 of their last 34 Scottish Premiership outings, I'll conclude the 10/11 (Bet 365) Bet Builder with at least six Celtic flag kicks.

Elsewhere, I'll ahead to the player card market and take the 15/4 on offer with Bet 365 for Ross County's Ben Purrington to pick up a card.

The new Staggies left-back collected a caution in his league debut at Tynecastle last weekend and he could be worthy of some interest to have his name taken again here given that his direct opponent could be Celtic star man Jota.
