PSG vs AC Milan

, KO: 20:00 Oct 25, 2023, Parc des Princes
AC Milan

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN must pick themselves up off the Champions League canvas when they welcome AC Milan to the Parc des Princes on Wednesday night.

After hitting the ground running in Group F with a reasonably comfortable 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund, the Parisians were put to the sword 4-1 by a rampant Newcastle at St James' Park on Matchday Two.

Despite that shock setback, Luis Enrique's star-studded side are occupying second place in the section and their destiny is still firmly in their own hands in their latest quest for elusive European glory.

After a slow start to the season domestically, the French heavyweights finally appear to be getting their act together and enter this contest off the back of a 3-0 stroll to victory at home to Strasbourg on Saturday night.

As for AC Milan, they have kicked-off their bid for what would be an eighth continental crown with back-to-back 0-0 draws against both Newcastle and Borussia Dortmund respectively.

Stefano Pioli's side will make the trip to the French capital this midweek following their Sunday night showdown with Juventus at the San Siro.

Outright Betting

PSG are 4/5 favourites with Bet 365 as they bid to make two it home wins from home two in Group F

A third straight Group F stalemate for AC Milan can be backed at 14/5 (Bet 365) while the Rossoneri are as big as 7/2 (PaddyPower) to pocket all three points at the Parc des Princes.

Betting Angles

Paris Saint-Germain are fair favourites here at 4/5 with Bet 365 and I'm more than happy to back the home team to prevail at that price.

While PSG were caught cold by Newcastle on Matchday Two, the money-rich hosts are a totally different beast when operating at their Paris headquarters, particularly in Europe's premier club competition.

The French champions have lost just one of their last 34 Champions League group stage games in front of their own supporters, impressively claiming top honours on no fewer than 27 occasions across that sample of fixtures.

As such, it would be fair to say that PSG have been the epitome of a flat-track bully when going about their business during the pool stages of the Champions League in recent seasons and I'm backing them to assert their dominance against AC Milan.

It goes without saying that the Rossoneri will not go down without a fight here, however it's worth noting that they have triumphed just twice away from home in 11 matches since making their long-overdue return to Europe's top table back in 2021.

With that in mind, coupled with the likelihood of Milan feeling the exertions from their encounter with Juventus at the San Siro on Sunday night, siding with PSG here at 4/5 (Bet 365) holds plenty of appeal.

Switching attention to the anytime goalscorer market, I'm also keen to back Kylian Mbappe to grab a goal here at even-money with Bet 365.

The French megastar has made the net bulge in seven of his last eight Champions League appearances at the Parc des Princes and he looks like a nice spot of value to get in on the act against Stefano Pioli's poor European travellers
