Newcastle vs Bournemouth

, KO: 12:30 , St James' Park
 Bournemouth

Newcastle will be looking to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they welcome Bournemouth to St James' Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Magpies kicked off the campaign with a pulsating 2-2 draw against Liverpool before Matthias Jaissle celebrated his first league victory as Newcastle boss last weekend.

The Toon Army ran out 2-0 winners over Tottenham in a game that also brought up two of my three recommended selections.

With four points on the board from two tough-looking fixtures, Newcastle have made an encouraging start under their new manager and will be looking to maintain that momentum by taking all three points against Bournemouth.

The Cherries are still searching for their first league win of the season after being denied by a late Everton equaliser in a 1-1 draw last Saturday.

That was the second successive week Marco Rosa's side had suffered late heartbreak, having conceded twice in the closing stages of their 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.

How the bookies view it: Toon Army to triumph

Fresh from last week's impressive 2-0 win away at Tottenham, it's little surprise to see Newcastle installed as 23/20 favourites with bet365.

Bournemouth are available at 2/1 to claim all three points, while the draw can be backed at 5/2.

Head to head: More cheer for the Cherries?

Bournemouth have proved a real thorn in Newcastle’s side in recent seasons, with the Magpies failing to win any of the last eight Premier League meetings between the pair. The Cherries took four points from the two league clashes last season, following up a goalless draw at the Vitality Stadium with a 2-1 victory at St James’ Park. Another Bournemouth victory by the same scoreline on Saturday can be backed at 12/1 with bet365.

Players to watch: Hone in on Hall fouls

Lewis Hall was fouled twice away at Tottenham last weekend, and the Newcastle left-back looks worth backing to draw 2+ fouls again here at 5/6 with bet365.

Evanilson has committed five fouls across Bournemouth's opening two league games of the season, so the Brazilian looks terrific value to overstep the mark at least twice here at 19/10 with William Hill.

Predicted line-ups

Dan Burn, Joelinton and William Osula are all ruled out through injury for Newcastle, while Tino Livramento faces a late fitness check.

Bournemouth will be without injured quartet Amine Adli, Eli Junior Kroupi, Julian Araujo and Veljko Milosavljevic for Saturday's trip to St James' Park.

Newcastle: Hornicek; Dedic, Thiaw, Botman, Hall; Willock, Gonzalez, Miley; Elanga, Wissa, Barnes

Bournemouth: Petrovic; Smith, Hill, Silva, Truffert; Cook, Scott; Rayan, Kluivert, Tavernier; Evanilson

Anything else catch the eye?

Both teams have scored in three of the pair's four Premier League matches this season, but the straight BTTS price looks too skinny to get involved with on Saturday.

Instead, I'm boosting the odds to 4/5 by combining both teams to score with each team to receive a card.

This combination landed in Newcastle's home game against Liverpool and has also clicked in both of Bournemouth's Premier League fixtures this season.
