Inter Milan continue their push for a top four finish as they travel to the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona for the clash against champions Napoli.
Napoli are coming off a disappointing 2-0 defeat to mid-table Monza in their previous Serie A fixture. Manager Luciano Spalletti made several changes to the team and they looked slightly disjointed for much of the contest.
The result may have been a surprise, but it is still in keeping with Napoli’s erratic form in recent weeks. They appear to have taken their foot off the gas since clinching the title and head into Saturday’s clash with just two wins from their last six Serie A matches.
While things have undoubtedly looked slightly erratic in recent weeks, Napoli have managed to maintain a bit of consistency at home. They are unbeaten in eight of their last 10 matches in front of their fans, although two of the last three fixtures in that run have ended in draws.
While Napoli are struggling to find their best form, Inter Milan appear to be hitting their stride in the final weeks of the season. They are through to the final of the Champions League after claiming a 1-0 victory over AC Milan on Tuesday and are currently third in the Serie A standings.
Inter Milan travel to Naples off the back of eight straight victories across all competitions. They claimed a 4-2 victory over Sassuolo in their previous Serie A fixture with Romelu Lukaku netting a brace while Lautaro Martinez was also on target.
The Nerazzurri have also maintained that impressive form of their travels, winning their last six away matches across all competitions. They are also on a three-match winning run away from home in Serie A and claimed a 2-0 victory at Roma in their previous fixture on the road.
How the bookies view it
Inter Milan’s recent good form means they have a slight edge among the bookies and are priced at 6/4 by William Hill to claim the win. A victory for Napoli is valued at 19/10 with bet365 while a draw is set at odds of 5/2 by BoyleSports.
Head to head
Inter Milan have a 22-16 advantage with 13 draws from 51 previous matches against Napoli. The Nerazzurri claimed a 1-0 victory in the reverse fixture back in January while the last three meetings in Naples have produced 1-1 draws.
Players to watch
There is a side-battle to track on Sunday with Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez vying for the top scorer award in Serie A. Osimhen has 23 goals and is priced at 15/8 by William Hill to score anytime while Lautaro Martinez has found the net 20 times and is also valued at 15/8 by bet365 in the same market.
Another player to watch is Romelu Lukaku, who appears to have found his form in recent weeks. The striker has found the net five times in his last five Serie A matches and is priced at 11/4 by bet365 to get on the score sheet on Sunday.
Anything else catch the eye?
There have been goals for both teams in three of their last four meetings and a similar outcome is priced at 10/13 by Unibet. Given the attacking quality on both sides, over 2.5 goals could also be considered at 20/21 with BetVictor, who is also offering 13/5 for over 3.5 goals.
There have been more second half goals for both teams in recent weeks and Sunday’s clash can be tipped to follow a similar pattern at 11/10 with Paddy Power.
