HUDDERSFIELD TOWN and Nottingham Forest go head to head in the Championship playoff final on Sunday as both clubs look to earn a lucrative promotion to the Premier League.
The Terriers were one of the surprise packages in the second tier this term, with Carlos Corberán transferring his team from relegation candidates into playoff finalists in less than a year.
After ending the regular season in third place, the West Yorkshire outfit advanced to this weekend's Wembley showpiece with a 2-1 aggregate win over Luton Town.
That means Huddersfield are now just one step away from securing a return to the top-flight after a three-year absence.
As for Nottingham Forest, they were in the Championship relegation zone when Steve Cooper took the reins last September before roaring up the standings to secure a fourth-placed finish.
Having since clinched a place in the playoff final with a dramatic penalty shootout victory over Sheffield United, on a night where my recommended Bet Builder landed, the Tricky Trees will now aim to end their 23-year exile from the top-flight under the arch this weekend.
Outright Betting
Despite winning seven of their last nine matches, Huddersfield head into this high-stakes affair as 45/17 (SBK) outsiders while the draw inside 90 minutes has been chalked up at 23/10 (SBK).
Nottingham Forest, who have won just one of their last four matches across all competitions, arrive in the capital as the 6/5 favourites with SBK.

Nottingham Forest will have their backers at the aforementioned price but I'm more than happy to instead side with the 87/100 (Bet 365) on the side from the City Ground -0-25 in the Asian Handicap.
This selection sees our stakes split, with half going on Nottingham Forest draw no bet and the other half going on the outright win, and that makes appeal given Forest's remarkbale resurgence under Steve Cooper's stewardship,
As already alluded to, Nottingham Forest arrive in fantastic form, with the Tricky Trees avoiding defeat in an eye-catching 32 of their final 38 league matches of the regular season.
It's also worth pointing out that Cooper's crew claimed maximum points from no fewer than 22 of those matches, not to mention they have scored at least once in 14 of their last 16 matches in all competitions.
Whilst Huddersfield should not be underestimated, as they managed to finish above Forest in the league table, I’m still expecting the favourites to come through here.
As such, I'll respect the draw and keep the 90-minute stalemate onside and therefore back the Reds to overcome a -0-25 hurdle on the Asian Handicap at 87/100 with Bet 365.
Given that these finals in general have been low-scoring affairs in recent years, I'll also have a nibble on the 9/4 on offer with Boylesports for Nottingham Forest to win either 1-0, 2-0 or 2-1.
