Championship leaders Fulham host Coventry City on Sunday as they look set to continue their match towards promotion. Coventry have been out of sorts in recent weeks and should be no match for the Cottagers.
Fulham claimed a hard fought 1-0 victory at Middlesbrough in their midweek Championship fixture. It was a game of few chances with Aleksandar Mitrovic’s effort midway through the second half proving to be the difference.
That result not only extended Fulham’s lead at the top of the standings to 11 points, it also put them on the cusp of promotion. They can secure a return to the topflight with victory on Sunday, if Nottingham Forest lose to Birmingham City on Saturday.
Fulham head into Sunday’s clash with just one defeat from their last eight Championship matches, claiming six wins in that run. Marco Silva’s men have also won three of their last four matches at Craven Cottage.
While Fulham can secure promotion this weekend, the target for Coventry City for the rest of the season will be a finish in the top half of the table. They are currently 12th on the table, two points behind Millwall in 10th position.
Coventry have not been at their best in recent weeks and travel to Craven Cottage with just one win from their last eight matches. They have been beaten four times in that run, including a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest in their midweek Championship fixture.
That defeat at Nottingham Forest also highlights a poor record on the road for Coventry City. Mark Robins’ men have claimed just one win from their last five away matches, suffering three defeats in that run.

The bookies have Fulham as overwhelming favourites with a home win priced at 11/21 by Sport Nation. A victory for Coventry City is valued at 6/1 by BoyleSports while SBK is offering odds of 16/5 for a draw.

The reverse fixture was the first meeting between Fulham and Coventry City since 1968. The Cottagers will be seeking revenge in Sunday’s clash after suffering a 4-1 defeat back in December.
Players to watch
Aleksandar Mitrovic continues to extend his scoring record in the Championship with his effort at Middlesbrough taking his tally to 38 goals this season. The Serbian striker will be the one to watch on Sunday and is priced at 4/6 by SBK to get on the score sheet.
Fulham’s backline has also impressed in recent weeks, keeping clean sheets in their last two matches. Tosin Adarabioyo and Tim Ream are expected to continue in central defence and can lead the Cottagers to a similar outcome at 5/4 with Coral.
Anything else catch the eye?
Fulham are the leading scorers in the Championship and with Coventry City lacking the capacity to stop their attacking forays, a -1 handicap could be considered at 27/20 with Coral. Given their defensive record, a win to nil could also be on the cards for the hosts at 31/20 with BetVictor.
