Building on that achievement will be a huge challenge for John McGlynn's side, though, with a number of key performers departing during the close season.
St Mirren, meanwhile, will be determined to avoid another battle at the wrong end of the table after narrowly preserving their top-flight status last season.
Having kept the club in the Premiership via a play-off final victory over Partick Thistle, Craig McCleish was rewarded with the permanent managerial role in Paisley.
