Celtic vs Heart of Midlothian

, KO: 15:00 , Celtic Park
Heart of Midlothian

Heart of Midlothian will be out for revenge as they head back to Celtic Park for the first time since their agonising loss in last season's final-day SPFL Premiership title decider.

The Jambos needed just a draw in that game to be crowned champions for the first time since the 1960s but conceded twice at the death in a heart-breaking 3-1 defeat.

It was all change in the wake of that disappointment, with manager Derek McInnes jumping to ship to Rangers along with two key players while others also moved on.

It took new boss Wouter Vrancken time to get his methods across but the Belgian has Hearts playing some lovely football now and they sit just five points behind the champions.

Celtic are reeling from four defeats in their last five games, the latest a 4-1 rout by Benfica in the Europa League as two bets landed for me in Portugal.

Fans are far from happy and if the Hoops slip up again at home to the Jambos then their season is in danger of unravelling.

But a win would keep Martin O'Neill's men at the summit and strike a big blow to Hearts' hopes of mounting another title challenge.

How the bookies view it: Hearts too big at 4/1

I'm surprised to see Celtic as short as 4/7 with Bet365 given their poor recent form and Hearts look overpriced at 4/1. A draw wouldn't be a big surprise and that pays 7/2.

Recent head to head: Jambos with the edge

Hearts held the upper hand in this fixture last season, winning two of the four games and losing just once, albeit in the game that really mattered.

Their 2-1 victory at Celtic Park in December last season made it two victories from their last six trips to the east end of Glasgow.

Players to watch: Duran's the man

With £11m summer signing Kasper Hogh continuing to misfire up front, Celtic are relying on Camilo Duran to grab the goals. The Colombian has eight already this term and is 11/10 for another strike here.

Josh McPake has been in fine form on the wing for Hearts and could get some joy against a leaky Celtic defence. The Scotland new boy is a tempting 15/8 to score or assist.

Probable line-ups

Cameron Carter-Vickers could miss out again for Celtic while Alistair Johnston remains sidelined. Kieran Tierney may be a doubt after taking some rough treatment in Lisbon.

Hearts are a bit light in midfield with Ageu suffering another setback while Blair Spittal and Tom Renaud are still sidelined. Stopper Craig Halkett is a long-term absentee.

Celtic: Sinisalo, Donovan, Trusty, Scales, Tierney, McGregor, Baur, Nygren, Hassan, Forrest, Duran.

Heart of Midlothian: Reus, Altena, McCart, Kingsley, Fagan-Walcott, McEntee, Miller, Braga, McPake, Mendy, Wilson.

Anything else catch the eye?

Hearts got plenty of joy against Celtic last season by bullying them physically as McInnes played direct football and battled for second balls.

That's not the style of Vrancken though, and this should be an entertaining spectacle as the Jambos try to outplay the champions.

Celtic's defence remains their biggest issue so I'm expecting goals at both ends. BTTS and over 2.5 strikes pays just 5/6 but over 1.5 first-half goals pays 6/5.

The Hoops created plenty of chances against Benfica and were unlucky just to grab one goal. Hearts usually give opponents a few sights of goal so the 6/5 on offer for Celtic to score in each half looks good.

We should see plenty of corners in this one with both teams going for a win and over 11.5 flag kicks pays 11/10 with Bet365.
