POLAND v COLOMBIA

Live on ITV. Sunday June 24, kick-off 7pm

COLOMBIA came a cropper just three minutes in to their World Cup opener with Carlos Sanchez's red card and the resultant penalty paving the way for a 2-1 defeat to Japan.

They put up a decent fight with 10 men, equalising through Juan Quintero's clever free-kick before conceding a second-half winner that leaves them with no margin for error.

They head into this one knowing defeat would end their campaign and Poland are in the same boat after a limp 2-1 loss to Senegal in their opener. Polish goal machine Robert Lewandowski was largely anonymous and will have to raise his game to give his team a fighting chance.

Bayern Munich playmaker James Rodriguez returns to the Colombia starting line-up after only being fit for the bench against Japan and his creativity will provide a welcome boost.

Rodriguez – who'll provide the ammo for sole striker Radamel Falcao – was a key man in Colombia's surge to the quarter-finals four years ago and they can edge a tight clash against a Poland side who flatter to deceive on the big stage.

With so much at stake it could be a cagey affair with both sides desperate not to lose rather than going full throttle for the win.
