NFL week five begins with a battle at the bottom of NFC West as Arizona Cardinals travel to San Francisco 49ers in the Thursday night game.

Both sides have a 1-3 record this season and Cardinals must do without quarterback Carson Palmer who has been ruled out due to concussion, meaning back-up Drew Stanton will fill in.

Cardinals, who came into the campaign with high expectiations, are 4-7 favourites at the likes of bet365 and Skybet while the 49ers are 48-29 at Marathonbet.

Jordan's main bet for the weekend action is a Sunday double, with a write-up to follow, and as usual feel free to add all your own sporting tips and chat.

NFL Week 5 Main Bet

New England Patriots -5.5
Oakland Raiders/San Diego Chargers Over 40 Total Points

Hi guys, Its your main man Max here. Week 5 is upon and don’t the days fly by with week 4 ending on a Monday and Week 5 starting on a Thursday. Week 4 was a little disappointing but with my mind focused on the Ryder cup, and landing a 18/1 winner.

Stick to your own tips and leave Jordan out of it.
He’s got his own thread for a reason – he’s good.

  2. jamiew 7 years ago

Uh oh! Someone is following a tip from Jordan that was posted on his own thread. Will somebody please say they’ve followed Max’s tips so he stops getting so jealous.

Seriously, Mr F. Can you please get rid of this joker? He just causes arguments despite his ‘thick skin’.

Sent a post in response.why the hatred towards a great tipster.i don’t know anyone personally on this site but I do know who picks winners on a regular basis. Felt Jordan needed a gee up sounded a bit down.dont understand the digs either at Jordan or myself.i post on here because I enjoy sharing and looking at what people post and take in any knowledge people wish to share.i gamble for fun and if I win its a bonus .i am not a tipster and don’t say I am. By the way i not in loss mode on the NFL season yet. Check if u want didn’t realise it was a competition.easy to make unwanted remarks behind a faceless computer.no come backs

@nflfan, Max obviously doesn’t realize but even with his ‘weekly updates’ he’s in the minus himself. That’s what happens when people actually ‘follow’ him. They see past his sh*t :D

Max, you’ll never be on my level. Sorry mate. #Dig

      Well said.

A tip, in gambling is a bet suggested by a third party who is perceived to be more knowledgeable about that subject than the bookmaker who sets the initial prices. (A bookmaker will vary his prices according to the amount of money wagered, but has to start with a blank book and himself set an initial price to encourage betting.) Thus a tip is not even regarded by the tipster as a certainty but that the bookmaker has set a price too low (or too high) from what the true risk is: it is a form of financial derivative, since the tipster himself risks none of his own money but sells his expert knowledge to others to try to “beat the bookie”.

Hope you learned something today Max mate. Enjoy your afternoon :D

With Carson Palmer out and me seeing enough of Drew Stanton when Palmer was last injured (and last week) leads me to believe it could be a big night for David Johnson. Stanton threw two INT’s in his cameo last week so to bet the Cardinals on the road would be rash. PP and Ladbrokes already Johnson should have a big night and are offering 128.5 and 130.5 Rush & Receiving Yards, but its a big line which I don’t like taking. I mentioned this market for LeVeon Bell Sunday night and his 115.5 line was hit with 178 scrimmage yards for the running back. The 49ers lost their All-Pro MLB Navorro Bowman last week during their loss against the Cowboys. Before Bowman went out the Cowboys were averaging 4.6 yards per carry, and when he exited, they moved that number to 6.4 yards per carry. If 365 or Ladbrokes offer a market I’m looking at I may post but until then its nothing from me.

  7. Jordan 7 years ago

Scratch that. Ladbrokes are offering David Johnson Over 18.5 Rush Attempts @ 17/20. The three down back has only seen this many carries once this season, 16, 12, 19 and 17, but take into account they they’ve been losing in the majority of their games so the run game doesn’t get focused on as much. Also take in the fact its Stanton at QB and they’ll try to limit as many mistakes as possible. I said in my previous post that Stanton stank in up last week. He was 4-11 with a QB rating of 6.8. Give it to the bell cow…

David Johnson (Arizona Cardinals) Over 18.5 Rush Attempts @ 7/20 @ Ladbrokes – 4 points

I’ve been a regular follower on this site for around 2 years now. I’ve seen many great tipsters come and go due to the fact that people like max make unnecessary comments to others. I don’t post any tips myself cause I have a weird superstition although I regularly follow tips on all the threads here and must say that it is truly remarkable what Mr F, Jordan, Greg and others do. Max stop being that guy that ruins it for all and let’s focus on beating the bookies and doing what we all love.

    • Mr Fixit 7 years ago

      He’s been told.

    • taj 7 years ago

I’m not having a go at anyone, just think the comments are stupid. Jordan is cocky and just like all of us hates losing. What we all what is just for everyone to ignore those we don’t like or respect as tipster, good luck to all backing anything today

    • taj 7 years ago

Also anyone know if DeAndre is posting his tips elsewhere? He was by far the best tipster that has been on this site, maybe aside from ace Ventura

    • maxxxx 7 years ago

Not allowed to post mate, as he doesn’t promote this site, however twitter maybe a good start to look :-)

No more comments from me until I hear back from admin.

  9. Jordan 7 years ago

Expect Johnson to get in the endzone too. Anytime TD best priced at 4/5 @ 365 which I’ll stake 2.5 points on.

I really don’t see what you are getting out of this? If you don’t like the treatment of certain people please just ignore it! We are very lucky to have free access to such a wide range of knowledge and expertise, we don’t need any silly comments

My god i’ve had to wade through some rubbish to actually read a tip or two, will the lot of you grow up and just post your tips simple as that. It’s the internet, you can ignore people you know.

    Anyway…..

I fully expect the Cardinals to get back t winning ways tonight even without Carson Palmer they have better players on both sides of the ball. I’m usually a low stakes man so i try find a bit of value on my NFL bets. By no means an expert but i like to follow the league as much as i can.

    With Drew Stanton and Blaine Gabbert under centre, I fancy the under here. To add a bit of value, I am taking;

Cardinals -1.5 and under 43.3 total points at 9/4 with Skybet.

Cardinals had Superbowl aspiration before the season with many picking them to go all the way. If they go 0-2 in their division only 5 weeks into the season, they might as well give up on the season.

    Other bets that I fancy and will take literally a 0.1 point punts on are;

Arizona to score a defensive TD – 100/30 with Skybet (Remember what happened last time the 49ers played the Cards?)

Larry Legend over 63.5 receiving yards – 4/5 Bet365 (With the starting QB out, I think the 49ers will stack the box and try their utmost to stop the run, Stanton is not the worst of back up QBs going 5-2 last year when Palmer went down. I fancy the Cards to run a lot but also throw a lot of short stuff, so I am expecting (hoping) Larry runs a lot of slants and hitches in the slot and possibly even screens where hopefully, one big run will carry us over this total.)

The rush attempts have been hammered at Ladbrokes down to 4/7 from 17/20 when I posted. Hopefully good signs. The Honeybadger playing slot corner tonight. Should be interesting. Like the ST/D TD @primetime. Just a couple of the Skybet Requests I think are worth it.

    D.Johnson Over 84.5 Offensive Yards & To Score A TD 8/11
    Over 1.5 Interceptions, Over 1.5 Sacks & Both T.Smith and D.Johnson Both To Score A TD 9/1

  18. lee cunliffe 7 years ago

Keeping it simple tonight thought I saw a cracking request a bet for Arizona to score in every quarter at 12/1 turned out it was both teams to score in every quarter, if that happens more likely score will be 16-12. Leaving it alone just going stick a fiver on David Johnson first td.

  19. Jordan 7 years ago

PP and Ladbrokes already know Johnson should have a big night and are offering 128.5 and 130.5 Rush & Receiving Yards, but its a big line which I don’t like taking. Before Bowman went out the Cowboys were averaging 4.6 yards per carry, and when he exited, they moved that number to 6.4 yards per carry.

Johnson ends his night on 27 attempts for 157 rushing yards and 28 receiving yards on three receptions. Didn’t take the line but both bets in without much fuss thankfully.

    David Johnson (Arizona Cardinals) Over 18.5 Rush Attempts @ 17/20 @ Ladbrokes – 4 points ✔️

    Johnson Anytime TD best priced at 4/5 @ 365 – 2.5 points ✔️

Just a couple of the Skybet Requests I think are worth it.

    D.Johnson Over 84.5 Offensive Yards & To Score A TD 8/11 ✔️

Over 1.5 Interceptions, Over 1.5 Sacks & Both T.Smith and D.Johnson Both To Score A TD 9/1 ✖️ No TD for Smith
