Week 14, and the quarter-pole of the season are here. Bye Weeks are all finished so there's a full slate of games to dig our teeth into tonight.

Checking out a teams motivation becomes increasingly important as we near the final weeks of the season, those who are in playoff contention and those probably playing for draft spots are important to identify. It should make for some fairly easy handicapping, but there's not actually a lot I'm confident in tonight when it comes to spreads.

The only spread I'm really confident in is the Dallas Cowboys covering 3 points against the Bengals. It's more of a fade on the Bengals than positivity when it comes to the Cowboys. I think they match up well against them, the one bright spot for the Cowboys this year has been the offense and the likes of Cooper, Gallup and Lamb should be able to put up points on a Bengals defense which ranks fairly poorly despite the fact it's got some good pieces.

That's basically the handicap here. The Cowboys will out-score the Bengals who haven't really got much going on offense. The Bengals should get the run game going but the O-Line is so poor they tend not to, then you're relying on Brandon Allen to throw the ball to keep the team moving. Tee Higgins is the most explosive player they've got in the passing game, and he's barely practised this week due to injury. They've scored 10 points in 3 second halves, so if you want to get fancy you should take the Cowboys to cover the second half, but I think they win fairly comfortably to give Andy Dalton one final win in Paul Brown Stadium.

Dallas Cowboys -3 @ 10/11 in most places.

I do like a couple of teasers this week. It's basically taking teams on alternate handicaps, but you can tease the Packers, Chiefs and Bucs down to -2, -1 and -1 respectively. You're basically taking them all to win, that pays 8/5 using a 6 point teaser (teasers are available at 365 and Redzone, although you can just do alt. spreads at most other places for similar odds)

TD Scorers.

There's a few I like this week at larger prices, Cordarelle Patterson is always a risky one for the Bears but they got him the ball last week and he's on kick returns. Michael Gallup and Mike Gesicki are both 5/2 for the Cowboys and Dolphins, against the Bengals and Chiefs. Wayne Gallman has been very good for the Giants in recent weeks, scoring in 5 of his last 6, the one game without was last week against the Seahawks where he had his highest yardage of the season before Alf Morris vultured a couple of scores. I think he finds the paint again tonight though. I'll throw in a bigger odds bet on Jordan Reed for the 49ers. Generally if he plays, he scores and he did last week against the Bills. They face the Washington football team this week which is a tougher defense than the Bills, but it's a revenge game for Reed and the 49ers coach Shanahan who I'm sure will both want to rack up the points on their former employer.

Wayne Gallman 6/5 (Skybet/888), Jordan Reed 9/2 (Uni/888)

Player props

It's not often there's a plus money prop I like, but this week Collin Johnson for the Jacksonville Jaguars is at 11/8 (2.30) to have o2.5 receptions against a poor Titans defense in what should be a high scoring game. He's only had a couple of games starting with Mike Glennon and has led the team in yards over the last couple of weeks even with DJ Chark back for them last week, he's had 4 receptions in each with from 14 combined targets. So I'll happily take the plus money on him catching 3 tonight.

There's probably a lot of value around Washington tonight as well with Antonio Gibson out. Peyton Barber o10.5 rush attempts, JD McKissic o4.5 receptions are probably both good looks as they fill in the rushing and receiving roles taken by Gibson in recent weeks. The same applies for the Dolphins as they're down to 3rd or 4th string running backs, Deandre Washington has been heavily backed to score, Patrick Laird should get some carries and they've been using Lynn Bowden more recently too, his receiving line seems low at just 10.5 yards.

Collin Johnson o2.5 receptions – 11/8 (2.30) – 365/Skybet/Hills

  • Cowboys -3
  • Wayne Gallman anytime
  • Jordan Reed anytime
  • Collin Johnson o2.5 receptions

Good luck with whatever you're on this week and keep an eye on the comments, always some cracking tips from the folks on here.

These bets were advised earlier so lines may have moved so please shop around

    NFL Week 14 Bets

Teaser Treble 1.37/1 888sport (Advised Thursday)

    Houston Texans at Chicago Bears

Kansas City Chiefs at Miami Dolphins

    Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

Indianapolis Colts at Las Vegas Raiders (21:10)

JONATHAN TAYLOR over 53.5 rushing yards
5/6 william hill (NAP) (Advised Saturday)

Jonathan Taylor has gone over this total 7 times from 11 games this season,
in his last two games he has had 91 yards from 13 carries against Houston and 90 yards from 22 carries against Green Bay,
The Raiders don’t cope well with running backs, last week the raiders allowed 104 rushing yards to Ty Johnson from 22 carries and 74 yards to Josh Adams from 8 carries, in week 12 the Falcons Ito Smith rushed for 65 yards from 12 carries and Brian hill rushed for 55 yards from 13 carries, week 11 Kansas running back Edwards-Helaire rushed for 69 yards from 14 carries, I expect Jonathan Taylor to get a big majority of the carries here and he should easily get over this 53.5 yard total

Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers (18:00)

ROBBY ANDERSON over 77.5 receiving yards
    5/6 skybet (NB) (Advised Saturday)

After a bye last week the Panthers players will be well rested, DJ Moore tested positive for covid, Curtis Samuel was out for being in close contact but has since been taken off the reserve/COVID-19 list and should play, Robby Anderson should still be targeted more though, especially after coming off a 4 reception 94 yard and 1 touchdown game in week 12 against Minnesota, Anderson has 75 receptions this season for 912 yards, that’s 12.2 yards per reception,
I am looking at Anderson being targeted 15+ times with 10+ receptions which should get him over the total comfortably,
this could have been a difficult matchup for Anderson but with with Denver missing AJ Bouye through suspension it should give Robby Anderson the chance to put up some good yardage numbers and give him the chance to add to his two touchdowns this season

Denver Broncos at Carolina Panthers (18:00)

ROBBY ANDERSON to score a touchdown
    7/5 paddy power (Advised Saturday)

Houston Texans at Chicago Bears (18:00)

DAVID MONTGOMERY over 63.5 rushing yards
    5/6 william hill (Advised Saturday)

      Good luck John.

Looks good. I can never get the Colts RB correct so gave it a miss but he does seem to be coming on at the end of the season.

    • Johnb 2 years ago

      Thanks, good luck as well,
I always look at Gallman for yards and touchdowns, I think he has had 10 carries from inside the 5 yard line and scored 6 touchdowns from them,
Definitely worth following Gallman over the next few weeks and I think the Giants could win their last 4 games,

I did look at Giovani Bernard rushing yards because I think against this Dallas team gives him a chance of having his best game this season but liked other players more

Hey guys, long time. Took a few weeks off for personal issues non gambling related. But I thought I had problems.. flip sake. Hearts broke for mr fixits family. Everytime I put his name into Google I feel down. I’m sure everyone is the same, I hope his family are grieving in peace. And I’m sure they’re aware of his big 2nd family love for them. Read all the comments and cried my eyes out. Amazing place this is. So unique. Fair play to the lads keeping it going also, can’t imagine how hard that is. Will post a bet soon just wanted to pay my respect.

Hope things are good with you Inches, or at least improved.

It’s been a horrible year all round, and Christmas has the possibility to exacerbate everything that’s been negative this year. Stay strong buddy.

As you say, the outpouring of love on here and on twitter to Paul and his family shows what a key cog in the community that he was.

How the fcuk can Kansas City screw up the spread -7 against Miami with 1.08 on the clock drive all the way and let Miami score a field goal which meant that field goal made Miami beat the spread I will say it again the NFL is so corrupt they should be investigated for crimes against us the betting public absolute joke no more betting on the NFL for me waste of my time and more importantly my money 💰 NAE MARE
