THE first night of Euro qualifiers was pretty dramatic and well done to all the winners.
There were loads on the site and as macca said too many to mention but sean's bets stood out, macca did well too as did HullShaker and many others.
My Super Single cruised in thanks to another Scottish capitulation against Russia but the Top Treble was beaten by Northern Ireland scoring in their 3-1 defeat at Holland.
The Dutch comeback, Scotland's hammering and Belgium's 9-0 defeat of San Marino were three crucial outcomes.
Earlier in the office we were comparing the Scottish and Irish performances and when you look at the line-ups you'd say Scotland were stronger but the Irish play better. Reckon it's time Steve Clarke took Michael O'Neill for lunch and found out his secret before it's too late.
There are another seven Euro 2020 qualifiers tonight in Groups A, B and H including Czech Rep v England, Portugal v Luxembourg and Iceland v France.

Today sees the long awaited return of the Australian A league with cup experts Adelaide at Home to league kings Sydney. As always with the start of any league season it’s best to play it cautiously the first few weeks until form starts to emerge, but I think it’s fair to say I expect both these sides to finish in the top 6 this year and qualify for the play offs. Absolutely no form to look at other than the FFA cup matches and Adelaide are flying and have reached the final for a 3rd year in a row while Sydney suffered a shock (or was it?) home defeat to Robbie Fowler’s Brisbane, but that was more than a month ago now. With this in mind it’s just a betbuilder for me, as I usually wait til bout week 3 when I’ve managed to see every team play before I start getting into the games more in depth. For those new to the site, for a good number of years now the A league has been an excellent league for goals, especially btts and btts/over 2.5. Also they’ve had VAR for a few seasons now and know how to use it properly (unlike the EPL) and the last couple of seasons the league has been an excellent one to bet on for penalties.

Like Sean I am very excited to see the return of the A league this morning, it has been one of my favourite leagues to bet on the last few years, and with the TV scheduling in the UK I normally get to watch a few of the games over the weekend which suits my morning return perfectly.
Adelaide and Sydney should both be competing towards the top of the league this year as they normally do, but being the first game of the season it is very difficult to predict which way this opener will go. Both teams have seen a significant turn around in both on the field and off the field staff no bigger than James Troise in for Adelaide and Kosta Barbarouses for Sydney.
This could be a very tight affair, probably a draw even. I also note there has been two penalties scored in the last 3 H2H.
With this in mind I’m just having a split stake on the following;

Talent wise it’s rock bottom but result wise we are gonna have to go some to sink lower than a 2-2 draw in the Faroes in 2002,a game that had Paul Lambert & Barry Ferguson in the middle of the park 😂
Definitely 3 easier games coming up but even with a best XI it’s a tough ask in the playoffs when you have no talent in 3 of 4 defensive positions,having 2 quality left backs rubs salt in the wounds. Right back and centre back are big problems,even the ones missing through injury are poor to average. Agree on Shankland though,lots to prove but there’s goals in him at international level in my opinion. We need Griffiths fit and firing ASAP,he’s the best striker we have by a country mile
I reckon he’ll play Tierney at right-back – not sure who we can get in at centre-half as he’s tried various options.

Tierney will do a job at right back no worries. I only hope Clarke realises Forrest is a better option than Snodgrass and Christie the same with Fleck. Nothing to do with both being Celtic players,just think Forrest and Christie are the better players with more of a goal threat.
Forrest needs to be consistent for Scotland and I’d have Christie in there every time.
Snodgrass was poor but Fleck has to be given time. I also worry about Fraser when he plays for us – looks much better in a Bournemouth jersey.
