WEEK TWO of the Premier League and we have another game between two of the big six – this time it's Man City v Spurs.
On what we saw on the opening weekend this should be a teatime special with plenty of goals although I can't see past a win for the champions.
Before that we have plenty to look at and hopefully some profit to reinvest on the big game at the Etihad.
I've posted separate Scottish and English previews where most of my bets are reasoned.

In England I like the chances of promoted trio Norwich, Aston Villa and Sheffield United but I'm also aware it's a step up from the Championship and respective opponents Newcastle, Bournemouth and Crystal Palace won't give anything away easily.
It's the first weekend of La Liga and Bundesliga and already there have been two surprises with champions Barcelona losing at Athletic Bilbao last night and Bayern Munich being held by Hertha Berlin. Check out Scott's European tips.
Last Saturday's Super Single was Hamilton draw no bet at Kilmarnock and I'm taking the same punt in the Betfred Cup even though the venues have been switched.
As I say in my preview Accies are too big – around 5-1 to win the game against a side yet to get going under new boss Angelo Alessio.
On Friday night I landed another winning treble at 9-5 but the Super Single was a loser as Motherwell turned up too late against Hearts in the Betfred Cup and crashed out 2-1.
Not had a chance to do a search but I know Greg's Nap win as did Scott's members bet and well done to all the other winners.

🏴 English Championship 🏴
⏰ 3pm kick off
🏟 Swansea v Preston
📊 Swansea to win the match
📈 6/5
___________________________________________________________________
Swansea unbeaten in their last 14 games in a row and scored in all but 1 of them and achieved over 1.5 TEAM GOALS in 11 of the last 14. Unbeaten in last 9 in a row at home also scored in 17 games in a row at home, that’s very impressive if you ask me.
Preston never beat Swansea away from home in the last 15 years and travelling to wales will not be welcomed. Preston also failed to score in their last 3 visits at Swansea and lost them 1-0.4-0.2-0
Preston only won 1 time in wales out of 13 attempts and that was against a different side (Cardiff)
Preston scoreless in 283 AWAY league minutes.
Swansea are VALUE to win this game IMO and ill take this as my NAP
Goodluck all 👍
Followed blindly on this. Regrets
Failed to point out Preston have scored 7 and conceded none in their last 2. CONFIDENCE is high. Fingers crossed swans can turn this around.
1-1 half time. Been battered but glad to be in at 1-1. Hopefully kick on in 2nd half
Thanks for this.
Exeter v swindon, both won 2 out of 2, Swindon probably the more convincing, score draw maybe.
Bristol city v qpr, shared a sack full on Tuesday in efl cup, be pleased with just one each.
Added reading v Cardiff on Sunday based on Cardiff results this season and h2h for Btts treble also so if Saturdays double wins, I get a free hit at the treble on sunday.
Bristol city Btts 17-20
Exeter Btts 17-20
Double pays just under 5-2.
Add reading (sunday) Btts 17-20
Treble pays 11-2
All at hills
Gotta throw my 2 cents worth regards Derby’s away trip to Stoke. The potters failed to live up to their expectation last season and they really struggled, almost the opposite to Derby’s season.
Derby left it late to win in the league cup away to Scunthorpe and prior to that, we won the opening game away to Huddersfield and then drew with home advantage against Swansea. Had it been an away draw and a home win, the rams faithful would of been happy with the 4pts, but after the missed penalty against Swansea, many are saying we’ve lost 2 pts even though the played out games has yielded the same expected pts tally. You couldn’t make it up.
Derby have had a look at record signing Bielik and Shinnie against Scunthorpe. Bielik could be a good investment, but few are convinced that Shinnie is the right fit. They said that years ago when Stimac had an opening sequence of dreadful games, – he went on to become a club legend. I think you can’t judge a players whole season contribution from 1 league cup appearance.
New signing Matt Clarke seems the real deal, but with Anya out for a spell injured, Bogle also picked up a knee injury. Most would say we are weaker than last season on paper. Possibly. I think we’re a bit more defensive minded.
Stoke beat us at their ground, argue-ably the 2nd best home performance they had last term behind their win against Leeds. They beat us 2-1 at their ground and then got a 0-0 at Derby.
With 4pts from 2 matches, this is the best start the Rams have made in 5 seasons. ( told you we were slow starters a week or two back ).
Derby have it in them to score, but as for the final WDW result, it really could go any way. Naturally I’d love to see 3pts on the board, but apart from a dangerous 2nd half performance away to Scunthorpe in the cup, its really the pinnacle of our 3 competitive games this season. I shall be steering clear of even putting a quid on this one.
Good luck guys.
Frozen out in Iceland but much better luck in South America 😀

Was looking for cards in the Killie v Hamilton game . I can`t seem to find any bookie doing that market .
Just looking at mrf comments on the above game . Hamilton are 7/1 with bet365 to win this match — these are crazy odds imo — and Hamiton are definitely capable of winning this match .
MrF does your August total reflect the fact that you posted Motherwell DNB three days in a row as a 2pt super single? … That’s 6 points lost I’d say.
That was to highlight the game on Friday as he stated and their price was generous so he posted it earlier. Post some tips
Don’t be silly, It was the one bet and I often do that – when they win as they did one week with 2 early bets I counted the winnings once.
If I wanted 6pts on it that’s how it would have been displayed.

Morning all,
I really like the look of Elgin City at 5/4 today at home to Stenhousemuir. Elgin are 2nd in the league after 2 games, scored five in the Tunnocks cup midweek and for me possess one of the best striker partnerships in the division with Shane Sutherland and Kane Hester up top. They could be worth a wager on their own or I might add them to an acca with Cove, Ross County and Falkirk which is just under 8/1 with a boost on William Hill. Good luck with all your bets over the weekend 💰🤞
It’s a decent price on Elgin but I find League 2 sides are difficult to trust.
Sutherland though is in decent form and always dangerous.
Also like Luton vs West Brom btts

too big a price to ignore
well done scampi, 5 mins winner
Kilmarnock had over 15 corners last week at Hamilton . I don`t expect as many as that today , but over 4.05 first half Asian corners 1/1 looks good to me . bet365
Still waiting on they all important VIP tips MrFixit 😁

VIP tips were posted on Thursday morning.
A cant find them. You usually post them Sat morning / Fri night. How can i find them. Cant see them under the VIP section either
Try now – I’ve moved them further up the order.
There’s no specific time for any posts because each week I work different nights at the Record so it depends on when I get time.
Ideally I want them up as early as possible but it will usually be a Thursday night or Friday morning.
Off to see Troon v Clydebank down at the seaside. Hoping for a win to get our league season going.
Bankies won 5-1 there last season and are 10-11 at McBookie today.
Good to luck to everyone with all of their bets.
awful looking trip to dover for torquay united today, a long journey to a ground where we rarely seem to have anything other than a defeat at (altho upon checking we did win there the time before last, but they’re 4-2 up on head to heads with no draws!!)
we started superbly on tuesday night, but for a combination of poor finishing and great goalkeeping we didnt manage to score, and surprise surprise maidenhead scored with their first change after 35 minutes. another fruitless onslaught followed, capped by a breakaway in injury time for 0-2.
today i can’t see us keeping a clean sheet, GJ promises us it’ll be attack attack attack as usual!! overs or btts looks the obvious bet , 17/20 and 4/6 with betway for your accumulators. i’ll plump for a combination of the both, btts/overs at 6/5 (skybet)
good luck everyone

Derby have made 10 changes to the side that won midweek at Scunthorpe, so I’m assuming they’re going back to a similar squad that drew against Swansea:
Roos:
Lowe/Clarke/Keogh/Malone
Evans/Huddlestone
Lawrence/Dowell/Jozefzoon
Waghorn
Still going to avoid this one, really could go either way.

🏴 English Championship 🏴
⏰ 3pm kick off
🏟 Swansea v Preston
📊 Swansea to win the match ✅ ✅
Swansea are VALUE to win this game IMO and ill take this as my NAP ✅ ✅

Sorry Alex – posted in wrong place!
PS – always makes me laugh hearing United fans calling it the Emptihad…surely you lads know why United fill there ground and City don’t 😂
just judging what I see on TV with my own eyes Mr Shaker, rather than figure manipulation ;-)
Nothing to do with figure manipulation Alex. Have a look at the crowd’s faces whilst you are watching on TV – it’ll give you a big clue.
One team is still followed by a loyal fan base that stuck by a team falling through the divisions and spent the best part of 35 years in the wilderness whereas the other team has the same loyal following but is inflated by grotesque numbers of gloryhunters and football tourists from South East Asia.
Nothing wrong with that but, like I say, always makes me laugh when I hear ‘Emptihad’ – be interesting to hear if folk still call it that in 10 years time when City are the ones with an international following and Utd are fighting relegation!
Remember, the stadium wasn’t built to house the current City crowd, it was built with clear future intent that they will be one of, if not THE biggest team in the world.
I think we’re well in the stages of BOTH teams having supporters from all over the World including Asia, so with all respect, I don’t see that as a valid point. I see plenty of Asian City fans wandering around the city centre. Arguably greater number of glory supporter numbers wearing blue these days given what’s happened since 2012, which is of course expected and happens with all big/successful teams.
You are missing the point Alex, I was just responding to your (with respect!) plastic-Manc comment taking the piss out of a historically less fortunate side not yet able to fill their stadium.
PS – well done on the treble 👍
It’s pretty much the only thing we have got to use against them, that’s why LOL they’re too good. Cheers

Great minds eh shaker 👍👍
Didn’t notice you posted same game, happy as Larry with the outcomes aye.
Heads up for next week…
RIVER PLATE VS. CERRO PORTEÑO (23.8.19)
Despite River Plate’s obvious favouritism, you just can’t back against Cerro not putting in a shift for this Copa Libertadores competition; after last years performances and from what we’ve seen again this campaign, they will be bang up for it and will always pose the threat of netting.
I can’t help but think a part of this (and similar games) pricing is still trading on Argentina’s past strength as a footballing nation – It’s a national side and youth infrastructure that has been way off-kilter for the last few years whilst nations like Paraguay have closed the gap significantly!
13/8 for both sides to score looks good but I’ll happily take Cerro to net at a price I can see going off closer to evens come kick off – I’ll also take on a slightly riskier goal time bet which, again, will likely shorten:
CERRO TO SCORE
(11/8, bet365)
CERRO GOAL BEFORE 79:00
(7/4, bet365)
Good luck!
Shaker, game is on Thursday 22nd at 23-15 ko.
Tim Vickery was on talk sport the other day previewing these quarter finals.
He said the argies were already looking forward to a river plate v Boca juniors semi final.
This could play into your hands with your bet if they have that mindset, maybe underestimating their quarter final opponents.
Good luck with this bet, I reckon 0-0 half time, 1-1 full time with Cerro scoring before 79 minutes of course 😁
